The room was clean and spacious but a little dated. There was a waterproof sheet underneath the main sheet which was a little uncomfortable to sleep on as it kept wrinkling up in the night.
The room had a kitchenette but no plates or cutlery and only tiny tea cups so we had to ask for these. It was nice to have a fridge and kettle though.
The staff were mostly really friendly and helpful.
The pool and surrounding area was nice but lots of seagulls flocked around there and frequently pooed in it so we’re not sure not clean it was. We both ended up with bad colds after a couple of days of swimming in the pool so we expect it wasn’t very hygienic.
The sauna was very cold and therefore not a proper sauna.
The gym on the other hand had no air conditioning and was really hot and felt quite dirty.
We had a couples massage at the spa which was lovely and very reasonably priced. We also got given recommendations for local restaurants - Tasca 26, Quirinos and Olivalmar were all really good. The dinner buffet at the hotel was basic and rather disappointing.
The beaches nearby were nice but you do have to walk to them. There is a cool tunnel in the rock to walk through from the closest beach to the next one and that is a nicer beach to swim from.
Overall, it was a satisfactory hotel but not as nice as the photos or description implies.

My husband and I spent a part of our honeymoon at Vale Do Lobo. We really enjoyed the accommodations. We had a private apartment with a pool, which was lovely. We enjoyed the on-site restaurants, golf, and the pool area. We even went to the beach one day.
The accommodations were great! They provided us with espresso for the Nespresso machine. Gave us a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine. We had everything we could need at the apartment.

Perfection in this place’s simplicity. It was an idyllic vacation spot. Walking distance to the village but removed enough to be ultra peaceful. The free parking, pool and breakfast were all a huge plus. We were surprised how close we were to the boardwalk walking trails and really cool cave hikes. Sunsets galore and wonderful restaurants and shops near by. Loved it!
