The property and all services they offer in the middle of nowhere are not luxury by any means, but are very nice. There are a few good things on the menu, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. At my age and traveling alone I can tolerate a lot. But this property was not very well maintained. I know they must respect the night sky and limit light pollution, so be warned when you walk the grounds at night bring a flashlight! They have zero-night lighting. Plus, driving around the campus was difficult because there is very little traffic signage giving proper direction. The parking striping has faded, and it was difficult to navigate the roads. They can place reflectors on the pavement that will illuminate the road path when the headlights shine on them. That would help illuminate the road but do not give off light pollution. During breakfast no one at the restaurant was managing the buffet. They ran out of fruit, eggs and sausage. They also ran out of coffee during breakfast! That can’t happen. No one was bussing the tables. Half the tables were not available because of someone else’s dirty dishes. I stayed in building six (6). The hallway smelled like a basement. The room was fine, but they need to clean the full-length mirror and pay attention to the those kind of details. The bathroom was also fine. The towels were old and were not soft. The Tavern was nice. The Post Office was difficult to find. They had people driving around on golf carts. I’m not sure if it was a taxi service or not. No one offered me a lift.
