"Bisque del Cabo exceeded our expectations! The staff, villas, view from the villa, the food, grounds, and the wildlife on the grounds. A naturalist provides walking tours to discuss the wildlife which was very informative. We can’t say enough good things about our stat"
"Fabulous stay - luxurious, delicious fresh cooked meals, wonderful setting and wildlife, particularly birds and butterflies. Staff all very welcoming, knowledgeable tour guides. Real focus on eco tourism and sustainability. "
"Property is an actual retreat, so keep that in mind while booking. Car is almost a must, 4x4 highly recommended but not you can make it there with smaller cars (not that small). The place is very nice, property seems very new. I would definitely come again."
"A little piece of heaven. Very close to the Corcovado National Park, you can walk there. Everyday we would go on a hike, as soon as you walk out of the hotel you start seeing monkeys and all sorts of wildlife. Heck, you don't even need to leave the hotel. We had a group of scarlet macaws constantly hanging out in a tree right outside our room. And a brave little monkey paid a visit one day as well. The food prepared by Chef Coco was amazing! Everything was sourced locally and made from scratch....

"Beautiful accommodations and grounds. Nicest place to stay in Puerto Jimenez. Convenient location to get to dock if going to Corcovado National Park. Food was very good but somewhat expensive."
"Its own little oasis by the beach. Quiet, lovely setting with wooded paths between buildings. Food was great and staff was fabulous. Highly recommend staying here form more than just a night or two "
"What a wonderful place and could not have been in a better location in proximity to the beach and town. All gratitude and love for the hosts. There is an ice bath on the premises which was welcomed almost daily after each surf session. Thank you so much. Can’t wait to come back. Pura Vida!"
"It is a true rare gem. A wonderful lodge in the middle of the jungle. Our villa was spacious. It has two huge rooms and a giant porch where we saw monkeys. I was grilling to the sound of howler monkeys. The owners are a young Danish couple who are welcoming and helpful. They are building a big pool which is going to be ready in the next few weeks. We were the second guests and I can tell you- this is going to be an upscale lodge so come now while the prices are still reasonable. The way...

Botanika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"Really lovely place with a great pool that really anchors the entire resort. Our room was clean and comfortable though there was a weird beeping sound that was almost constant in our building through out our trip and there were at least 3 brief power outages during our visit. "

"Our stay at Lapa Rios was unforgettable from the moment we arrived. Staff were waiting for us as we got off the ferry in Puerto Jiménez, and after a scenic drive to the lodge, we were welcomed with tropical drinks and warm, personal greetings. The attention to detail and level of service throughout our stay were exceptional.
We stayed in the Matapalo Suite, which was private, luxurious, and exactly as pictured online. Set deep in the rainforest with panoramic views of the ocean and jungle, it was an incredible place to relax—and the A/C was a lifesaver during the hot, humid rainy season. We often saw monkeys playing right outside our suite, and woke each morning to the calls of howler monkeys.
Dining was another highlight. The food was fresh, varied, and well-prepared, and the staff worked hard to accommodate dietary needs—including gluten-free options for one of our group. We also went on several guided hikes led by fantastic naturalists who helped us spot wildlife and made the treks fun and informative, even for our 80-year-old family member.
What really sets Lapa Rios apart is the level of care from the entire team. From organizing personalized activities to making sure we were comfortably checked in for our return flight, every detail was handled with professionalism and warmth. Lapa Rios is the perfect mix of eco-adventure and luxury, and we can’t recommend it highly enough."
Amazing Oceanfront House in Cabo Matapalo with pool. Two surfboards..
10/10 Excellent
"It is a beautiful home right on the coast. We woke up to the sounds of birds and the waves crashing on the rocks. During the day we saw macaws and spider monkeys in the trees in front of the house. We had Rafa cook for us and his meals were a highlight of our vacation, however the kitchen has a modern stove and refrigerator so you could easily buy groceries in puerta jiminez and cook for yourself. There are also fans over the bed and solar powered electicity so we didn't get too hot at night. We are so thankful that we were able to experience the oso peninsula from this beautiful retreat. We loved fishing and surfing and hiking waterfalls, but coming back to this amazingly peaceful home at the end of the day to another creative, healthy meal cooked by Rafa was perfect."
Waterfront home w/ a full kitchen & private pool - walk to beach
10/10 Excellent
"We had an great stay at this beautiful cottage near Corcovado National Park! The location is stunning, and the adventure begins with the 4x4 road—it’s part of the experience and well worth it. The house is clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience.Joel was a fantastic host, even going out of his way to pick up a few items for us from Puerto Jiménez—so appreciated! After a day of exploring, the pool was perfect for a refreshing dip, and the Green Egg BBQ made grilling easy since town is a bit of a trek. The nearby Playa Pan Dulce was a highlight, where we swam daily while watching monkeys swing through the trees. We also spotted Agoutis, Macaws, and even an anteater!Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a wild, beautiful, and peaceful getaway. Thanks, Joel!"
Jungle paradise on beach with open-air living, full kitchen, & shared pool
10/10 Excellent
"This amazing property has everything you need. Very impressed with kitchen amenities, toweling and linens — all top grade, even quilted toilet paper! Heavenly beds (dreamy sleep under the netting), hot water when you need it, excellent wifi. Joel is wonderful, has good command of the English language, and truly respects the integrity of the property and local environment. Monkeys & other creatures live in the adjacent jungle but never entered the house. 4x4 or “tall” vehicle is mandatory in order to reach the property, and don’t worry — you indeed will arrive intact!"

The way there is a bit rustic so be sure to have a 4 by 4 and come during the day so you can see the nature while driving. You cant go wrong. "
