Great location, beautifully decorated room and good quality bedding, towels, toiletries etc. However .. our room (9) was TINY .. the gap on one side of the bed was approx 8 inches between the bed and the wall so very difficult to navigate safely particularly at night without stubbing your toe on the one side or bumping into to door handle on the other. There was no where to put a suitcase to unpack other than on the bed or the floor which was difficult for us. The en-suite was tastefully done but no where to put toiletries and only one tiny glass shelf above the basin. The shower cubicle was also very small indeed. Bedside tables had lamps and a radio or phone so again no space for much else. The space was just too tight - It’s really not a suitable room for two people. If we had been staying more than one night we would have asked to move rooms.

We had a wonderful stay here with our son, both sets of grandparents, and our dog, and it was perfect for everyone. From the moment we arrived, the first impression was fantastic. The spa was lovely and a great place to relax, and the food was brilliant throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious, although it did take a little while to arrive. The hotel is very family-friendly, with a lovely kids’ room and outdoor space that our little one really enjoyed. It’s also amazing for dogs, which made travelling with our pet so easy and enjoyable. We stayed in the 4-bedroom Grand Cottage, which was fantastic. Having private parking and easy access to all the facilities made everything very convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it.

Second stay here at the Clayton and was just as great as the first. Clean room, great amenities and perfect location. Highly recommended

Lovely hotel Breakfast was ok. No hot porridge. Very watery orange juice.
