Created by Diablo Dam, the lake is located between Ross Lake and Gorge Lake on the Skagit River at an elevation of 1,201 feet (366 m) above sea level. The unique, intense turquoise hue of the lake's water is attributed to the surrounding glaciers that grind rocks into a fine powder that is carried into the lake through creeks. Il a surtout été la seule personne avec qui nous avons pu échanger en français, ce qui a représenté un véritable plus pour nous (il est particulièrement rare, dans l’hôtellerie, de trouver un membre du personnel capable de communiquer en français, l’espagnol étant généralement la langue la plus répandue). C’est en grande partie grâce à lui que nous attribuons la note maximale de 5/5 à l’hôtel. Cela étant dit, le reste de l’expérience était également irréprochable : un personnel de réception professionnel, des chambres propres et spacieuses, un petit-déjeuner varié et généreux, ainsi qu’un emplacement exceptionnel pour profiter pleinement de tout ce que San Francisco a à offrir.
