"Property was everything we wanted for a get away. House was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Water was refreshing until the jellyfish decided to pay us a visit. Neighborhood was so quiet. We took morning and evening walks with our dog and she loved it. Saw the occasional deer and rabbit.Kathy was so easy to communicate with. Can't wait to come back!"

The Rappahannock carries special meaning for them...it's where they began their love story, and where they were engaged. Pop Castle is a warm, beautiful place for an event...only surpassed by the warmth and kindness of it's owners. The home is historic, well-maintained, and so comfortable! No detailsforgotten. Amazing kitchen! Bathrooms immaculate and the most comfy beds! This is truly a place for relaxation and sharing joy with friends & family! It has every amenity for a large gathering...beautiful views and grounds, places to spread out and come together! As Mother of the Bride, I was not as relaxed as I would have liked! But...all the more reason to return with the folks we treasure for another "Rivah" Respite! "This spot was perfect for our gathering of family members from Colorado and Maryland for a few sweet days together. The sunrises and sunsets and water birds hit all the buttons for grandma. The proximity to water with toys and similarly aged kids next door couldn’t have been more perfect. The house was very well equipped, and stocked with perfect items to complete our preparation, or lack thereof. We had solitude from the rest of the world to reconnect and enjoy each other fully in a beautiful spot. "

"We had 5 households gather including grandparents and 3 kids. The house was plenty big enough. Kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Excellent gathering options inside and out. We spent our mornings drinking coffee watching the river and evenings playing yard games. Kids had fun on the dock where we saw crabs, jelly fish and even a sting ray. We rented a boat, used the pool at the nearby Marina, and adventures to Tangier island but mostly just hung out at home base. Owner was accommodating and easy to work with. "
