Our check in was fast and easy. We didn’t arrive until right around midnight due to an event we attended and that was no issue. It’s a fairly old mom and pop type place. It needs to be updated and it would be much nicer. The drop ceilings freaked me out but that’s just me I don’t like them and they were stained badly. However, when compared to other rates on the area this is what we could afford and it did the job. We had a place to rest for a few hours before journeying back home. There was a musty smell as well. The tv wouldn’t work and several lights wouldn’t turn on. Having stayed at different Red Carpet Inns previously, we knew what we were getting into, so we had no problems, but if you are new to RCI, then please keep in mind: Pros: - Inexpensive - this is the main reason to stay here - Odd furniture layout in the room, but more than sufficient for our purposes. - Seemed safe enough (room and neighborhood) - Very convenient to food shopping, gas stations, franchise restaurants, etc. - About a 15 minute, easy drive to Niagara Park - not much traffic - Free and easy parking right in front of the room. - Every room is on the ground floor, so no worries about carrying luggage up stairs. Cons: - RCI is not a luxury chain - don't expect it! - Check in took about 15 minutes, because no one was at the desk and we had to call on the phone to get service. - Key card "broke" the first day and needed to be replaced. No problem doing so, but we had to wait for a few minutes for someone to come to the front desk. Wasn't a big issue, just took some extra time. - No daily towel or linen service, but if you ask for it, you can get what you want. Overall: If you are planning to leave the room in the morning and return at night to sleep, you'll find this RCI to be a perfectly acceptable motel. No one was visible at the desk and the lighting was very poor. I would like to be reimbursed. Confirmation message was also very sketchy. "check you account let me know asap i pay all mt payment call me call me call me" I called and was put on hold. I ultimately slept in my car at a rest area and gone charge for this reservation.
