Fantastic front porch home, nestled in the heart of New Orleans. A traditional New Orleans neighborhood with old homes and light commerce meeting up. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on our block to boot! Convenient to the streetcar, cemeteries, French Quarter, City Park, Bayou St. John.... All the things you need, mere minutes away\~\~\~ The space Our home is located in the heart of the New Orleans Mid City neighborhood-- a classic New Orleans neighborhood with a combination of old homes, all kinds of local businesses and corner restaurants and bars. There's a little bit of commerce and a whole lot of character! When you arrive you'll step up to the porch, which stretches lazily across the front of our home. The wrought iron table and chairs provide an excellent spot to sit and enjoy the view of our happy neighborhood with its quiet, but busy vibe. Relax and while away the hours, people watching and beverage sipping. Enjoy grilling and dining al fresco, or wander to the local haunts in the neighborhood. The entire first floor of our home is yours to enjoy. Inside is spacious, with a cool mix of modern and classic furnishings and finishes. We raised our original home an entire story, and left many of the structural elements from the house raising as a part of the decor and visual history of the new first floor space. We live right upstairs, in our own separate space. The living room has a large, comfy leather sofa and boasts a 110" drop down movie screen with a theater quality laser projector and a sound system including SONOS and B&W speakers. The kitchen is ready to cook! We have supplied everything you might need---high end appliances, dishes and utensils, pots and pans, plus a few more things for good measure----Breville toaster oven, Ninja Ultima Blender, Keurig coffee maker, French press, pour over... We also have a standard coffee maker, if you prefer. Each of the two spacious bedrooms has its own, distinct personality. Their common traits are king size beds with memory foam toppers, loads of fluffy pillows and blankets and SONOS music players. The second bedroom has a 70" smart tv with ROKU and the larger bedroom has an 80" tv with ROKU and its own sitting area to enjoy. There are two full bathrooms. The front bath has a deep tub for soaking and a generous shower head to wash away the cares of the day. Fluffy robes and towels! Private laundry room in the rear of the bathroom, equipped with stacked washer and dryer, iron and ironing board. There is even a wall safe in the laundry room. The larger bedroom has en suite bathroom with a rain shower head. More fluffy robes and towels! Step out to the side porch and enjoy your private "japoolzzi" swim spa pool and lounging area. We keep it the perfect temperature for each season. Go with the flow and float away any stresses from the day or swim against the flow and burn off the delicious food you're sure to enjoy while you're here! Whether you're coming to New Orleans to enjoy the sights, the nightlife, the history or just a quiet getaway, the Porch House is waiting for you. Refund is solely at owner's discretion. We accept a number payment options for the refundable security deposit. We take weekend trips to NOLA often and usually stay near the French Quarter but decided to branch out a little further and I'm so glad we did! It was so easy to get to where we wanted to be with the trolley or bike rentals or Ubera (but the trolley was the best experience) plus we found out that midtown has just as much charm as the French quarter. Our car stayed parked the whole time. We had amazing hosts, greeted with snacks and all sorts of useful information - from restaurant recommendations to how to use the projector, everything we needed was right at our fingertips. I'm a details person and usually have a million questions for the hosts but Doody literally covered everything before I even asked. She truly goes above and beyond to provide a relaxed, enjoyable stay. And the private heater pool..... Just perfect! The entire place was in great condition, super clean, stocked with everything we need, comfortable beds, plenty of pillows & towels... I could go on and on. You name it, they had it. Communication from start to end great, space is awesome, amenities are perfect, safe/fun location, comfy bed, great place to chill during a stormy day or come back to after a long day out. Pool was nice place to relax. Such a nice retreat in an amazing city. Also because my husband has limited mobility due to a leg injury, I just wanted to note: limited stairs with great rails, walk in shower, easy beds to get in and out of. Pool doesn’t have a railing and sectional couch is pretty low and hard to get in and out of. But there are other seating options. ##### Laura C. From the moment we booked the place, Doody was simply amazing!! She kept in touch and made sure to communicate everything beforehand that we would need to know. Once we arrived, she greeted us and gave us a tour of the place! The work that has been put into the house by her and her spouse, is something that we were fascinated by!! Everything was amazing. So amazing that we barely left the property. I’m now obsessed with lights, projectors, and surround sound systems. 😂 and don’t even get me started on the pool. It was so warm and relaxing!! Bedding was extremely comfortable. It was a quick ride on the streetcar to get downtown to the French Quarter. Lots of conveniences within walking distance such as restaurants, Walgreens and a grocery store. The sculpture garden near the museum was also a quick ride on the streetcar. Individual climate control for 3 different rooms was just super. Love the big screen in the living room. I think that we would go back a stay at this same place again. The property is clean, historic and comfortable with so many amenities. The owners are very responsive, helpful and friendly. The pool is very warm, the porches are perfect for relaxing, the property is perfectly located away from the loud party scene, but close enough to easily get to where you want to be. The Canal St streetcar to the French Quarter is 1 block away and Ubers are plentiful. We never waited more than 5 minutes for an Uber and were able to get anywhere we wanted to go within 20 minutes. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance. We ate at Mandina's, Katie's, and Blue Oak BBQ during our 1 week stay and recommend all three. We did our grocery shopping at Rouses Market only a 2 minute drive away. The store is very nice. The neighborhood is quiet and felt very safe. No need to worry about your car with off street parking at your front door. The home is exactly as described. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our Christmas dinner. The beds are very comfortable. The towels and linens are very clean and high quality. The hosts are friendly and responsive. If we return to New Orleans, this is where we will stay. ##### John and Deb R.
