weekend getaway

Posted 15-Feb-2017
Pros: location
Cons: more training for the waitstaff, repair and maintain the mechanics.
I was very disappointed when I arrived for check in. Your reservation website did not disclose the $25 per day resort fee. I was told it included the 2 bottles of water in the room everyday and use of the beach chair, (regardless of how the number of guests). But, if we wanted a umbrella on the beach, there was an additional $25 per day charge. Really? The dinning room was nice nice, the waitstaff was pleasant, though very inexperienced, and not well trained. The food was a bit overpriced, and served cold. It was sent back and again served cold. Neither of the 2 hot tubs were working. I was told they have been down since December. I mistakenly assumed when a facility is called resort and spa, the spa amenities would be functioning. Will I return? Not likely.

A step above, on beautiful beach.

Posted 25-Jan-2017
A step above, on beautiful ocean, great pool and surrounding area with oversized hot tub that over looks ocean. Nice amenities , with the $25 spa fee daily you get four chairs and umbrella on beach, towels, use of gym, free gourmet coffee or tea in mornings. There is a $15 self park fee daily or valet parking. The on site restaurant and bar are nice but expensive. But just across the street and about a mile away are really great eaterys.

Newly renovated, fantastic group DS and beach

Posted 1-Jan-2017
Pros: Staff was great. Close to several restaurants.
Cons: HVAC in room was noisy. For a recently redone hotel this is a shame. Internet connection is weak a d constantly going down. Their restaurant is OK.
Location: Marco island is not a shopping mecca. There are several good restaurants within walking distance.. Beach is great.
Easy to check-in. Service is outstanding. It is expensive so one should know that going in. We had a beach view room, from what I could see the non view rooms would be a poor choice.

Nice Hotel, Too Bad About Undisclosed Construction

Posted 27-Dec-2016
Pros: Rooms were decent and the staff was friendly.
Cons: The construction during the week leading up to Christmas which should have been completed one month ago.
Hotel is decent and is right on the beach of Marco Island. We were looking for a relaxing hotel and we thought that was what we were receiving. However, each day during out stay at the hotel we were greeted by the sounds of construction between 7 - 7:30 am each day. I wouldn't have minded this if I were on a business trip because I would have already awaken well in advance. In this instance though my family was looking for some quiet, restful days at the beach to get the batteries recharged after a very busy 2016. Each morning it was a symphony of pounding hammers and metal on metal grinding at the crack of dawn. It was especially enjoyable when we finally made it to our room at 2 am in the morning on our first night due to travel only to be awaken at 7 am to the sounds of a banging and pounding. It was also a real treat when the hot tub next to the pool was out of operation. I blame the hotel somewhat but mostly Expedia for the lack of notification that the hotel was under construction during the week leading up to Christmas. I will never use Expedia again because I can get the same prices elsewhere and will most likely choose the Marriott when staying at Marco Island in the future.

Great location

Although it was meant to be completed still under construction. It will be beautiful, but workers EVERYWHERE. Drilling in the room above us before 8am. Not a relaxing situation.

Marco Island Hilton on the beach

Posted 21-Dec-2016
The hotel is right on the beach. Beautiful location and gorgeous pool. The hotel is being remodeled - so right now is rather plain decor wise. I am sure it will be beautiful when completed. Rooms were nice (pre remodel) but nothing extraordinary. We did have a fire alarm snafoo that sent hundreds of guests into the lobby at 8:30 am. Not pleasant for most but we were checking out and on our way out

Nice hotel close to the beach.

Posted 18-Dec-2016
Pros: Beach access and nice views.
Cons: They charge you $15 per day to self park when rooms run $300+ a night. Charge less for drinks and you may sell more. $12 for a Crown and $6 for beer?
Location: Shopping, food, and beverages just across the street. Hotel itself sat in a very good location. Beach was nice and access to beach was convenient.
Our room was fine, but the telephone did not work. They said it was a problem with the phone company. They were in the process of remodeling, so ice makers were not operational. They did bring you ice when you asked for some, but since we had no phone, it made it a little harder. Also, they had problems with their television provider. Kept cutting out and was frustrating in the evening when you wanted to relax and watch a game. Food and drink were pricy, but that goes with the closeness to the beach and beautiful sunsets. We did have a good time, but may need to find something a little more reasonable next time we visit Marco Island.
