"The host communicated from right after I confirmed our stay. She responded each time I wrote a message and was very helpful and informative. The place was a bit deep in the volcano area and we were very happy with the quiet and privacy. The house was amazing, clean, comfortable and very accommodating. The hot tub sealed the deal. Mahalo."

"It was a nice quiet place to stay while I was getting a few things done at my house. The parking was right next to the yurt. The bathroom and sink are in another building. There was a microwave and fridge. The coffee was good. It was windy and the outer window coverings were really loud, so bring earplugs just in case. It was nice to see the stars while laying in bed. I would stay again."

"I loved staying in this little cottage! The main house is close by but that didn’t detract from the peacefulness. It’s decorated super cutely, the bed was comfy and has everything you need for a stay close to the national park. Opening the big doors next to the bed makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the rainforest - surrounded by vegetation with birds chirping. "

The coqui frogs will serenade you in the evening, chickens will do the same in the morning, and Kiko (a very friendly dog) will stop by to say hello once or twice a day. "Loved our stay here. It was the perfect spot a little off the beaten path that was a great home base for our adventures on the big island. Close enough to everything you need and far enough from the hoardes of tourists, with lots of little shops and spots to check out nearby. As for the space itself, it's super cozy and has an incredible ocean view from the screened in patio. Waking up to that view was one of the best parts of our trip. Would 100% stay here again."

"This is a beautiful property and very peaceful and calming. We had excellent communication with the manager who really helped us by arranging a washing machine when a prior renter had broken the machine at this cottage. Also, we forgot a ring that has much sentimental value (it got mixed up in the bedding while we were packing to leave). The housekeeper turned it in and the manager contacted us immediately to coordinate it's return. We were already on our way to another part of the island but...

"Wanted to get a feel for DH vibe. My son recently purchased a lot there. This is our 7th trip to the Big Island, and first time to stay in Naalehu. Definitely more chill, less people and less touristy. Volcano was spectacular! House was adequate. Furnishings were spartan, not very homey. Kitchen was very nice with newer appliances, except the frig door didn't seal tightly.Overall an enjoyable stay, it's Hawaii!!"
