Lovely hotel perfectly located near the river walk. So scenic, yet quiet with many restsurants nearby. We were less than 10 minute walk from the Cathedral and crowded "touristy" places. Hotel de l'Ill had a plentiful breakfast included (eggs, yoghurt and toppings, pastries, meats, cheeses, breads, juices, coffee, teas, etc.). Another amenity we enjoyed was the restaurant/large area with 24-hour coffee/cappacino/tea machine and fruits and pastries for as long as they lasted. It was lovely to come back each evening for a coffee. The staff was excellent and the rooms fresh and clean. Beds were comfortable with blackout shades. Many will appreciate the bath/shower, but we would have prefered a shower. The #10 bus that served our long distance needs was just around the corner. The 72-hour bus pass, which also goes to the train station, paid for itself. We enjoyed the scenic Batorama river cruise that embarks from nearby. Our favorite casual restaurant was Au Brasseur, and we enjoyed a delucious romantic dinner at Rimini. Both were less than 10 minutes away. We would not hesitate to return to this little gem.

The hotel is excellent in terms of rooms, amenities and staff. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The car park is very tight and don’t be surprised if others take more room than they need making parking of today’s large cars a challenge. At €25 per day, it seems a bit steep. However, for convenience, you are a captive audience. The hotel is a short walk from the main, beautiful attractions that Strasbourg has to offer, so again convenient. Strasbourg is a difficult city to navigate with the roads seemingly constantly changing, so ensure sat nav is up to date, or use phone.
