9.6/10 Exceptional! (513 reviews)
A very nice place to stay, especially as we were in the old part of the property which has loads of character. We had a big, comfortable room with sitting area. I particularly liked that the TV was hidden away behind doors so did not intrude it's presence into the room. The staff were very good, friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is first rate. One down side is that, surprisingly, there is no kettle in the room and ordering hot water or tea from downstairs is tedious and inconvenient. The other minor issue that we had was that the option I chose to book specifically included free parking which implies that there would be parking reserved for me as it was include in my room description. This turned out not to be the case and the small car park was already full. This all got sorted out by the helpful front of house people but it was another irritation that took the shine off a very pleasant visit.

"Lovely old style hotel in the heart of Roscommon town, the room was grand, had all the usual stuff with a very comfortable bed, great sleep. The staff were very friendly. Had a steak in the bar and was as good as steak gets. Made use of the leisure centre which was adequate. Good breakfast."

"Room was spotless modern and comfortable. The staff were also super helpful and welcoming. We were in one of the ground floor family rooms and had a wonderful visit from the hotel cat who made herself comfortable and slept in the room all night. We could have turfed her out but the kids loved her ..."
