Which area of Menton is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
For budget-conscious solo travellers seeking affordable accommodation in Menton, the area around the Garavan train station or a little further inland from the main promenade can often yield the best value. Staying near Garavan station provides excellent transport links, making it easy to explore Menton's attractions and venture further along the coast by train or bus without incurring high taxi fares. This area is also a bit quieter than the bustling town centre, offering a more relaxed atmosphere after a day of sightseeing. Solo travellers will find a selection of smaller hotels and B&Bs here, often with more modest rates.

Alternatively, consider properties a few streets back from the seafront. While not directly on the water, these locations still offer convenient access to the beach and town centre within a short walk, but often at a reduced cost.
