"We stayed at this hotel for more than a week under very difficult circumstances. We had actually stayed here six years ago to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday, but this visit was because he became critically ill and, sadly, passed away. The front desk staff knew why we were there, yet throughout our stay there was no acknowledgment or expression of sympathy. I wasn't expecting a discount. A simple handwritten condolence note in our room would have meant so much during such a painful time. The hotel itself is clean, and most of the staff were pleasant. We booked three rooms, and one of my brother's bathroom sinks was broken, but he never mentioned it because our family was focused on much bigger things. I understand hotels are businesses, and I had no issue paying the bill during our stay, as required by hotel policy. My only feedback is this: please remember that your guests are people first. Whether they are traveling for vacation, business, or because they are experiencing an illness or the loss of a loved one, a small gesture of compassion can leave a lasting impression. Kindness costs nothing, but it means everything."
