Staff & service

Property conditions & facilities

4/5 Good

Great place
This place was great with all the comfort of home only negative was the internet was seriously slow but can’t blame that on property owners sadly though with no cell service and super lacking internet it was very hard to communicate and research local things we wanted to see. With that said don’t blame owners for that at all the house was wonderful!!

4/5 Good

Good time
Good time but next store neighbor was very loud with arguments and working on his wheeler till 1130 at night. Other than that we enjoyed our time

5/5 Excellent

Perfect home away from home
Great place to stay with a larger group! Spacious and comfortable! We would definitely stay there again!!

2/5 Poor

Decent Place for the neighborhood
This house met all expectations based on their description. However, once we got there, we were greeted by several cats. Upon entering the house, a note was left on a bucket of cat food asking that we feed the cats while we were there. Nowhere in the description did it say anything about having to take care of cats. Two of us are highly allergic to cats. We contacted the owner and she replied right away. She had stated that they don't go into the house. However, we definitely could smell that cats had been inside the house. There were even pet deodorizers throughout the home which indicated the same. One of us had a horrible allergic reaction by sitting on the couch where he couldn't breathe and his face and tongue swelled up. His room in the lower level also smelled of cats/stains on carpet. He and his wife had to leave three days early to stay with other friends in the campgound nearby. The internet/wifi didn't work until we asked to have her send a technician out. The tenants prior had left a note that it didn't work as well. The day before we left, it finally worked. Made it extremely hard to get ahold of friends nearby to communicate. Seems as though other tenants in the journal had written a house phone would have been useful..... I had messaged on vrbo and texted the owner at the conclusion of our stay (who had been very good at replying to me prior) about some sort of a refund based on the cat situation and some leaving early and she failed to reply. These were really our only complaints. We had a fully stocked kitchen to use, a decent yard for our kids to play in, showers to accommodate a long day of riding with plenty of hot water. It was suggested to the owner Brandy to put the pet disclosure in her description of the property so this doesn't happen to anyone else. When we come again, we will not be staying here.

5/5 Excellent

Great place to stay
Great place to stay, close to Hatfield and McCoys trails, lots of history in the town of Matewan. Owners had great communication and were very fast at responding to emails.
