"The Novotel in Clermont-Ferrand was conveniently just off the autoroute. Good protected parking and very efficient check-in. (And they are DOG FRIENDLY). Rooms are what you expect, although our room was way too warm and even we couldn't regulate the temperature satisfactorily. Not sure what was going on, but the thermostat was not responding. "Very nice hotel, I stayed for 2 nights. No parking on site, the streets are extremely narrow so be mindful as you drive. There was some shenanigans going on outside on the street a bit of a fight. At night the area might not be safe but during the day is fine. There is no parking at the hotel, but a few streets down there is a large, very clean underground parking, so that was fine.
