Cozy family operated and wonderful staff. Stairs into our bathroom leaves me with accessibility concerns (they were inconvenient even able footed freshly out of a shower) but otherwise clean quiet and highly recommended - 5 minute walk to Yorkminster and the York city center and 10 minute walk to the train/bus station makes it ideal for travelers.

Smooth check in, room was exceptional and property was in close proximity to the centre of York. On site parking available. Only downside was traffic noise quite loud through the night as room was at the front but couldn’t be helped.
Would highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely hotel and the rooms were beautiful. The staff were very helpful at all times . We didn’t eat there but it all looked amazing.
The only thing I would say it could do with a small fridge in the room to keep drinks cold . As we went during a heatwave and it was very hot in the room .

The night shift reception was not impressive! Someone who could not possibly put a smile on let alone being helpful.
Location was decent and hotel was relatively clean given it's age.
Did not have the breakfast there so cant comment on that. Bedding could also be a lot better for a 4-starred hotel

"It is what it is. An old building and old rooms but they are trying their best. Reception staff were really helpful. Breakfast was ok.
