We stayed here in Manassas after flying in late to Dulles. We were not expecting much and it was chosen simply because it was on our route south to Virgina.
However, we were greeted by very friendly staff, who helped with late night dinner recommendations (hotel has discount with TGI Fridays which is across the parking lot).
Room itself was very nice and clean. And the next morning we had a snack at the hotel breakfast before ending up next door at a Turkish breakfast cafe was was delightful!

The best area to stay in Marshall is directly within the village centre, particularly around Main Street.
This small, historic village offers a charming and convenient base for exploring the surrounding Fauquier County wine country. Main Street itself is home to a few local shops, eateries, and a historic train station. The general layout is very walkable, making it easy to access everything the village has to offer on foot.
For couples looking for a relaxed getaway, staying in the village centre provides easy access to local dining and a pleasant evening stroll. Many local guesthouses and B&Bs are situated here, offering a more personal and comfortable stay, often with facilities like cosy common areas and gardens.
Travellers interested in exploring the local culinary scene will also find the village centre ideal. Marshall is known for its farm-to-table restaurants and proximity to numerous vineyards, many of which are just a short drive away.
When is the best time to go to Marshall?
The best time to visit Marshall is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the Virginia countryside.
During spring, the landscape bursts into bloom, making it a beautiful time for scenic drives and outdoor activities. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 10°C to 20°C, which is ideal for visiting local vineyards and farms.
Autumn offers cooler temperatures, generally between 15°C and 25°C, and the stunning display of fall foliage. This season is great for those who enjoy hiking, exploring historic sites, and attending local harvest festivals without the heat and humidity of summer.
While summer (July and August) can be warm and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's still a good time for those who enjoy water activities or don't mind the heat.
