"Good for a short stay"
Location is great, right on the port and many dining options. Reception area was small and very busy. Though the room and bathrooms were very spacious by European standards. The room, hall, and bathroom were not cleaned well unfortunately. Some rubbish were left on the carpet as we made our way to our room, leaving a bit of negative first impression. The beds were clean, you can tell one was sagged and slanted to one side. Expected some rough edges in the closet and in the corners. Overall I'd stay there again for the convenience, but only for a short time.

"Great Hotel perfect location"
Our visit here was for 6 nights so we spent alot of time at this hotelMarie at the desk was very helpful. Found only a few staff knew how to speak English which is generally a problem all over France. I know it is a French speaking country but if your in the tourist business English is tops. This created problems when it came to our room rate. We ended up having to pay 25 euros more 3 nights in a row.The beds were only queen size and for a 5 star should have been more comfortable. It seemed we always had lump in the middle of the bed. The room was clean but seemed to need a really good scrubbing in the corners. Frederic who was our waiter on the 3rd floor restaurant was not the best in his customer service. He tried to send us to the 7th floor bar instead of his area. We tried to rent the Sofitel car outside the hotel but after going through all the paperwork and time found it was not charged (electric car) and would not start so we left not renting a car. Over-all because of view and location a great hotel.

"Great shower!"
Excellent hotel close to Vieux Port. Best shower we have had in Europe. Good TV. We worked out how to watch US shows in English which was a bonus. Breakfast way too expensive if not included but cafe Alcazar (?) across the road and to the right has coffee, croissant and orange juice for 5.50.

"Very lovely hotel "
Beautiful hotel in a quiet oasis not far from bustling marseille . Steep 10 minute walk up and back to the sea. A must see was the Calanques of Marseille - though difficult to reach its absolutely beautiful and you need a cab ( 30 euros) . Sonmouire is the closest and largest. Take train to beautiful Cassis and break that up with sights in Marseille. The front desk staff and dining staff is awesome at Bompard Hotel and the breakfast and pool are awesome ! We loved it !

Nothing much to say really - it was just a (mostly) flawless stay. I suppose that in itself speaks volumes in a way.

Marseille is a dream for historians, artists, and urbanites of all kinds. Ancient churches and port buildings nest comfortably next to swanky boutiques and contemporary architecture on sunny beaches with island views.

    A Port of Origin

Where should your holiday in this bustling city begin? At Vieux Port, of course. This ancient port has serviced ships for more than 26 centuries, and it has all the colourful characters and culture to prove it today. This is where fishing boats, yachts, and cruise ships dock, so there’s plenty to see and do. Bars, theatres, restaurants, and cafes come alive at night and stay buzzing until early morning hours. Plus, check out Marseille hotels near the Porto Vecchio ferry for access to the starting point of the 2013 Tour de France in Corsica.

    Art, Adventure, and Accommodations

What will you do with your time in Marseille? How about a stroll through the historical Le Panier quarter to visit artist’s workshops and artisanstores ? Step out of the bustling city for a day or even just a few hours and visit Les Calanques for kayaking and hiking near rocky promontories, or tour the nearby picturesque provincial villages of Menerbes and Oppède le Vieux.

Getting around in Marseille is just as pleasant as its destinations. Grab a bike and pedal around the cycling tracks and seaside roads under the Mediterranean sun, or hop on an electric tram to hit sights like Notre-Dame de la Garde.

You know how to get the best deals on accommodations and hotels in Marseille, right? Head to now and book your adventure today!
