We stayed for the weekend to attend a football game in Marquette. It was a great location just outside of Marquette. We ate at a great place in Harvey called Lake Superior Smokehouse Brewpub
200 W Main St, Harvey, MI 49855. We highly recommend eating there.
If you dont want to go out, the house has a nice grill on the back deck.
Two bedrooms are upstairs with a bathroom in the hallway between them. The other two bedrooms are in the basement. Along with a bathroom and laundry room. The layout worked great for our family. We had everything we needed.
The house was just what we needed for the week. It comfortably slept 7 adults and 1 child with lots of extra bedding and towels. Situated only 10 minutes from downtown Marquette and very close to Lake Superior, this rental is a great place for a family getaway in the UP!
We needed an overnight stopping place , on our way further north. This house met our needs perfectly and we continued on our way, well rested, fed, showered and happy! Thank you to the host for preparing an oasis for our travels. Highly recommend!

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The grass had not been cut and at least 12”s tall. All nine of us pulled ticks off of us every day just walking in the yard. The gas grill propane bottle was empty as well. There was poison oak all on the front porch. We had no way to lock and secure the garage where we stored nine motorcycles during the stay!
We had a pleasant stay overall. The house was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the property was well maintained. The supplied ground coffee was appreciate. There's also a nice fire pit with chairs that made for a great evening hangout spot. It’s clear the owners take good care of the place. That said, there were a couple of drawbacks. The basement bathroom and shower space made it less than ideal. It is a large communal space where someone can be taking a shower, someone else doing laundry and even another using the rest room. Also, the TV didn’t have any cable or live service — you’ll need your own logins for streaming platforms like Netflix or Hulu. We had to scrounge around for a Peacock login to watch the Lions. When we arrived, the outdoor garbage bins were already full, which wasn’t ideal. Also, there was no ice machine or even ice cube trays in the freezer, which was inconvenient.None of these were dealbreakers, but worth knowing in advance. Overall, a nice property in good condition.

I booked my stay on April 11th for one night (May 10th). On May 7th I received the address via email as expected and on May 10th I received a text from the host in the VRBO app inquiring about my ETA. This shows there was no issue contacting me yet I was never provided access instructions (door code) prior to my 3pm check-in. I responded to the ETA inquiry requesting access instructions, at 5pm I requested them again, I sent a 3rd request in the VRBO app and never received a response.I called the host twice and sent a text message, I was not contacted until after 8pm (5 hours after my check-in). The host apologized and told me she would refund me 100 for the inconvenience. It is now May 14th and I have not received the promised refund.Additionally, the primary bed clearly had not been changed as there was both human and pet hair between the flat and fitted sheets. We also found that all but 2 windows were unlocked, you would think this would be a routine check during the cleaning process.Given all of the issues getting access to the home, the fact that it was not properly cleaned and the host not being proactive or responsive I would not recommend renting this home, there are too many options to accept an experience like this!
