Beautiful Winter Getaway
Marmora retreat has everything one can think of for a cozy, comfortable time away from home with friends and family. We were a group of 7 adults (parents and their adult children) staying for four nights. Even our dog was welcome which was a real bonus! We wish we could have stayed longer! The farmhouse itself is on a very large and beautiful wooded property near a lake. All of the rooms are beautifully appointed with very comfortable beds in the spacious airy bedrooms and massive couches in the great room which centrepiece is a large stone fireplace. We took full advantage of the barrels of wood that were provided for a small fee and kept the indoor fireplace going while the snow fell outside. Our group had a great time with the pool table/ping-pong table in the basement and we all found a quiet spot to read, do a puzzle or just relax. The huge reclaimed wood dining tables (beautifully made by our host!) provided the perfect spot for our dinners together and for lots and lots of games. The large kitchen is just what one would expect from an old style country farmhouse; gorgeous wood plank floors and tons of counter space to prepare meals but with the convenience of all the modern appliances and cookware one would need. There is also a table that seats four-six people for a cozier seating setting. All of the rooms have lots of natural light and views of the stunning property from every angle. We spent a lot of time outside despite the snowy weather and enjoyed walking over to the neighbouring horse barn to visit with the horses and their owners. Some of us brought our own x country skis and snowshoes and had lots of room to enjoy these in the woods and on the nearby trails. Were we to return in the summer we're sure we would also enjoy the large deck that spans the length of the house along with the swimming pool at the side of the house. The photos that are on the listing are bang on; what you see is what you get and you won't find anything lacking. The hosts have made Marmora Retreat a relaxing and soothing space for everyone to enjoy time away from the hustle and bustle of life to be surrounded by nature and beauty. We will most definitely return!

Beautiful retreat!
Marmora Retreat is a stunning property inside and outside. It truly lives up to its name. We personally wanted a quiet, lovely place to relax and it was exactly that. We definitely will be looking to book here again.

The destination to escape the city
A picture perfect destination for our loved ones and friends to get away from the city and escape our busy lives. This property exceeded our expectations and was the perfect choice for us to create memories we will cherish forever. Walking on the property was a great opportunity for us to appreciate the pristine fields and trees this property offers. For most of us, it was our first times getting to see horses and goats in person. It was an unexpected treat to see faces light up with joy the moment they saw them. Around the bonfire while roasting marshmallows, it was the perfect time to sing happy birthday to my incredible fiancé. Surrounded by people we love, we took time to star gaze, and realized we never get to appreciate so many stars living in the city! Brendan, thank you for making our stay everything we had hoped for. We can’t wait to come back soon :)

Perfection!
What a beautiful house and property. We went on a much needed girls weekend and everything was perfect — from walking around the property and saying hi to the goats and horses and watching ducks out on the lake to sitting around in the living room, enjoying a beautiful fire. The house is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We will be back!

Great retreat!
