Beautiful grounds, well maintained. Excellent food and service at “Dave’s Pub”, along with a spectacular (elevated) view of the golf course. Very enjoyable.

First time to Grand Bend and Oakwood Resort was a great choice to stay for the weekend. The resort is in a nice location in that it’s far enough away from the main area but it’s within walking distance. Loved that we had a private beach that was not crowded but had the option of walking to the main beach. The grounds and buildings on the resort were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast that’s included was delicious with very friendly and helpful staff. Overall I’d definitely go back.

The property is located on a large wooded area with the main registration area not connected to the different buildings that contain the rooms. I stayed in the Pine building on the second floor. As soon as you enter you are met with a dark, smelly, and dirty staircase leading to the second floor. No elevator!!! My room was a standard 2 queens with panelling and dark walls and carpet to match. The bed frames are chipped, furniture old and tv screen was more like a computer monitor. The bathroom was the most hideous I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Had an open space before the actual shower and toilet where it housed a dusty Keurig, fridge and rusted sink. The actual bathroom had another old dirty sink with a rusty drain. The toilet had no cover and the ceiling fan was clogged with dirt. Shower rod was rusted and the ceiling had huge water stains throughout. On day of checkout around 930am, the room air conditioner could no longer be adjusted, it automatically shot up to 77F. This being in July we found it very uncomfortable and warm to stay. I guess management wants people to exit early. I couldn’t believe it!!! The staff especially one male manager, was counting how many towels we had in the room since we asked for extra towels. The service is terrible and you are made to feel that you are given the bare necessities. The only positive is the access to the private beach. Recommend to stay on the Strip as this Hotel is 15-20 walk to the main shopping and beach area. AVOID!

The room smelled a little funny at first, but it was clean and the beds were comfy, and the temperature was very nice! If my two kids can sleep soundly then that's a win! The registration clerk was awesome and so sophisticated and helpful with his service. Private beach was amazing and not far from the main Grand Bend strip to shop! The food was gross but they were really busy at the bar and grill. The breakfast was overpriced and basic, I don't know why I thought it was included in the stay. But the property is gorgeous and secluded, we would definitely come here again, but get Timmies and Subway for breakfast and lunch :)!

Room had dirty floor. Very outdated and decrepit. Dark and dingy. Very noisy from people in rooms above. Air conditioning wasn’t working. They came, made it work but then didn’t work later in evening. We read bad reviews but were willing to give it a chance. The bad reviews were right. Personally, not worth the $269.00 charged.

We stayed there for two days, The room was not too clean, they don’t provide cleaning services for both days, we also had someone making noise upstairs till 4am and the staff had to come in listen to the noise so they could believe what we were saying, as they said the did transfer those people to different room but actually they were still there. Also they had security fees that they don’t show it when you book online with them. Location was nice and beautiful view.

Enjoyed our stay at Oakwood Resort. The lodge was nice and had a pool. It was clean. Private beach access was probably the best park. Would come back again if staying in Grand Bend.
