-We booked hotel because we thought this was a vintage inn… it’s not.
- Went for “Countylicious” event. When we arrived were told they had changed our reservation to 8:30. No concessions were offered, told to go to bar but that it was first come first serve, that they would be busy, and that they were short staffed made to feel like their error was ours. Ended up going into Picton for dinner.
- room was dated… eighties funeral home. Burgundy carpet, fake fireplace, floral curtains
- tiny shower with no water pressure
- breakfast only offers six menu items. I ordered granola and was told they were out. Was informed that I should have informed them of special dietary restrictions (didn’t think this was necessary as I was ordering off menu)
- Staff made no attempt to make up for mistakes and made us feel like we were to blame.
The overall experience on a Halloween weekend was great. We appreciate that there are staff shortages and that they were doing the best that they could. Our greeting when we first arrived was a little disappointing as the gentleman at the front desk was not welcoming at all. Overall, we had a wonderful visit and meet some very interesting people.
