"I wish I did a little more research before booking. This lodge used to be a hostel and still seems more like a hostel than lodge. It would be perfect if I wasn’t traveling with a toddler who wants to get into everything. Location is about a five minute drive from the beach. We saw a ton of deer. It’s a little ways to the shipwreck and lighthouse. Great for trail access. Overall, if you’re traveling with small children or folks who overheat easily, maybe not the best place. "The quality of the room wasn’t great. Our towel rack fell off the wall, the TV was so dark it was hard to watch, and there were hairs in the bathroom when we checked in. Note that they also charge $22 for parking per night for self parking in a giant empty lot, which we didn’t find out about until we were charged after checking out. Would have been great if the front desk had let us know about this extra charge upon check-in or if there was some actual safety or convenience that went with this charge."
