"Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax."

"I stayed at Nakanku Lodge from mid January to mid February 2024 accompanied by my little Maltese dog, Lulu. Everything was wonderful! The tropical garden setting was beautiful. I loved the pool and easy proximity to beaches. The outdoor kitchen was so fun as it generated opportunities for community and conversations with other guests. Gary was a super host! Hope to return next winter! Pura vida!"

"You can tell that the entire location was very thoroughly thought and planned out to its beauty! We loved that the location had lots of nature, a pool, and breakfast included. The only thing that we didn’t like was that there were lots of red ants that were coming through the bathroom window all throughout the night. We would find them in the sink, toilet, and wall beside the bed. "

"Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. There was a lot of debris on the ground, the kitchen area was really dirty and the room had rusty racks and shower curtains that allowed water to spray out all over the floor. "We had a great stay at the WET Hotel in Tamarindo! The rooms and overall property were very clean and well-maintained. The AC runs all day, which was perfect for the heat, and we loved the thoughtful pull-out drawer under the bed for luggage — such a smart touch. They also provide drinking water, which was super convenient. One feature we thought was really cool was the projector in the room — it made relaxing at night feel like having our own mini movie theater. The pool area was clean and relaxing, and there’s a bar on site that offers brunch options. Location is another plus — it’s not too far from the beach, and there’s a supermarket and plenty of restaurants close by. We were also able to get early check-in, which made our arrival so much smoother. Most importantly, the staff were wonderful — very friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Tamarindo!"

"We felt at home at this lovely hotel. A little oasis in Tamarindo. Easy walk into main area of town (5 min) but also quiet at night. Safe and nice big room which was comfortable and very clean. We would easily stay here again! "
