We chose this hotel as it was a bit outside of the main centers of Syracuse and Ortigia. However, we were disappointed that they did not allow us to check in early, even though it was only about an hour to check-in time. They held our luggage for us but then when we left to get lunch to pass time so we could come back and check in, they forgot they had our luggage and were trying to show us straight to our room.
The balcony, at least on the first floor, I wish we had not paid for, as it was not private and went straight to the pool area. Bathroom and room were just okay, nothing special. I would recommend maybe trying another accommodation to stay in.

We had a wonderful stay at Mare Nostrum Petit Hôtel. The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to explore the town.
Enrico was an excellent communicator from the beginning and kindly upgraded our room, which we really appreciated. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. We also enjoyed the breakfast, which was a great way to start the day.
Pozzallo itself was a pleasant surprise. We only stayed overnight before catching the ferry to Malta, but we definitely wished we had allowed more time there. It has a relaxed, authentic atmosphere and offers a true local Sicilian experience away from the larger tourist destinations.
We would happily stay here again and would recommend both the hotel and Pozzallo to anyone visiting the area.
