10/10 — My girlfriend and I recently stayed at St. Francis Resort, and it was absolutely beautiful. If you’re looking to truly get away and experience Exuma without the crowds of a typical resort, this is the place.
The bungalow-style accommodations sit on a hillside overlooking the ocean, with solar power and rainwater catchment that add to the unique, eco-friendly feel. Just steps away is a pristine beach that we essentially had to ourselves. At times, it genuinely felt like our own private island.
You arrive by a quick boat ride from Georgetown to Stocking Island, and the staff is fantastic. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and willing to arrange anything we needed. We chose the all-inclusive option, and the food was excellent.
There’s plenty to explore. You can kayak over to Chat ’N’ Chill for fresh conch salad and a souvenir shop, or head up the shore to Coconut Club. Some guests rented their own boats, and St. Francis also has a boatman who can take you wherever you’d like to go.
Our room didn’t have a TV, but that turned out to be a positive — we actually unplugged and enjoyed the incredible surroundings.
Beautiful, peaceful, unpretentious, and a completely different experience from a conventional resort. Huge thank you to the entire staff for taking such great care of us. We would absolutely come back. 10/10!
