"We truly enjoyed our stay with breathtaking views of Formosa Beach overlooking the beautiful infinity pool.Good proximity to grocery essentials as we did some of our own cooking. Apt is positioned down a steep driveway and several flights of stairs to navigate coming and going. The big disappointment was the nonfunctioning hot tub that we were looking forward to using. "We had an amazing time at Funchal Barcelo. The staff was extremely nice and treated us so well. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne in our room one day - they had seen from our passport that we were celebrating a birthday. Complete shock and unexpected. Location was great! Close to the water, easy to walk the downtown streets and the rooftop pool was wonderful (although sometimes a bit crowded). We would recommend Madeira and especially this hotel to anyone who asks. I can't say enough great things about our experience! Looking forward to coming back, hopefully soon!"
