However, the bedroom was on the lower ground floor (almost like in the basement), and so the bedroom in particular had a dank and musty odour.. It was akin to the smell of rising damp that on typically gets in England. The staff were very helpful. And they managed to get me in my room early after coming in on an early morning flight from the states. They even called me to let me know when it was ready. There was a little issue with the heat, but they were quick to remedy it. The only negative at all is that the atmosphere is a little cold. It doesn’t have the warmth that is typical in South Kensington properties but that’s a small price to pay for efficiency and cleanliness. ##### Robin Stayed 3 nights in Jan 2025 ### 4/10 Poor #### Ronald Feb 25, 2024 Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities Great/Helpful staff and good location near the London Underground/walk to Hyde Park, Museums, etc. However all furnishings were dirty/worn out and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. We packed light and planned to use the in room washer/dryer - but the dryer did not work well and it took over 2 hours to dry a small load. Additionally, the fan in the bathroom did not work and if we opened the door to let the steam out it set off some kind of alarm resulting in a phone call or knock on the door from hotel staff. Finally, there was LOUD noise (yelling, banging, stomping, music blasting, etc.) most nights until 1:00am or 2:00am. Not really sure but it seemed to come from other hotel guests either above us or in the courtyard below.
