The hotel is situated on a main road just outside of Bridgend. The building is rustic with a quaint charm that puts you instantly at ease. The lady on reception was really warm and helpful. My room was lovely and clean and the bathroom had both a shower and deep soak bath. The bed has this amazing mattress which was so soft that it enveloped you like a marshmallow and provided one of th best night's sleep I have had in a long while. Breakfast was cooked perfectly with ingredients of a quality you can tell they are locally sourced. The only drawbacks were I couldn't get the shower to provide hot water but the bath took care of that and the lock on the door got stuck meaning it was difficult to leave the room at times and could provide a hazard in the vent of a fire. Otherwise it was an idyllic stay.

Parking not included, have to book and pay using Just Park (limited spaces). Only the gym appears to be free, the pool and spa need to be paid for. Queen room was large with a nice deep bath. The room felt a little tired; minor holes in curtains, carpet not in the best condition, bath robes rough on the skin. Only 3 coffee pods in a room for 2 people which was a bit odd. I was staying alone so it was okay for me. Additional instant coffee on a tray in the cupboard. Toilet roll thin and poor quality, maybe because the plumbing doesn't cope with thicker paper? Toilet roll holder wobbly and coming away from the wall. Overall a nice enough room but felt expensive at £125 a night (Saturday) with parking costs on top plus having to pay for swimming pool.

The breakfast was absolutely delightful. Every morning we looked forward to a tasty, freshly cooked meal. The bed was comfortable, and we were upgraded to a super king bed which was absolutely fantastic! Would highly recommend this hotel!

We had an excellent stay. We stayed in the St Teilo room, which had a lovely, private, decked area outside the room, which made for a very cosy star-gazing evening. We twice ate at the hotel: for breakfast and the evening meal. The food was delicious and high quality. I had the pork wellington and fillet steak. Portion sizes are quite substantial. I had a small mountain of chips with my steak. A very cosy experience in a really quiet village. Didn’t hear a sound at night. Would definitely stay again.

This apartment had great space and really useful cooking facilities. A dishwasher and washing machine in such a small apartment were useful for a longer stay, although we didn't use the later for our 3 night break. It's really convenient for the City centre and even closer to the Millennium Stadium, although I bet prices for major events there are much higher. Cardiff is a great city and certainly cheaper than Lincoln where we live. Strongly recommend a visit.
