We stayed twice. Our first one-night stay was excellent, but our second three-night stay was disappointing. Our room had three beds, but my husband’s mattress was broken and offered no support. There was also no hot water, only lukewarm water. Check-in was frustrating. A couple cut in front of me, and when the woman returned with questions about towels, the staff member rushed through my check-in to attend to her instead of asking her to wait. Better staff training is needed. Breakfast was disappointing. Despite advertising made-to-order eggs, the first morning had runny scrambled eggs and cold mini pancakes. When I asked about omelettes, the waiter said, “This is all we have.” The front desk later apologized and corrected the issue. The included ceviche and pisco sour class was good, but the bar tender asked us for a tip afterward, which felt awkward and inappropriate for an included activity. We only had 20 soles on hand, and he did not seem happy with it. Dinner was expensive and not very good, so we did not return. I recommend Panzottis instead. At check-out, we were told we owed 150 soles for a tab, but we had never opened one. We explained this, and the staff member said she would investigate. It was never mentioned again. Overall, for the price, I expected better service and food quality. Instead, I often felt like a difficult customer having to point out problems and ask staff to resolve them. Disappointing and stressful. Would not recommend for that price.

Great place. Well maintained. The staff was amazing

Miski Samay is a magical retreat perched on a mountain in Yanahuara (Urubamba district), in between Urubamba the town and Ollantaytambo, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Located on a hillside, the views are incredible. The property grounds are filled with natural beauty and the domes are very comfortable with comfortable beds, heat, hot water, fridge, and several other common amenities. The staff are excellent, and especially Roger who will make your stay comfortable and memorable. I highly recommend Miski Samay!
