Our only complaint was there wasn’t ample lighting - also in two of our rooms the outlets were inoperable. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious though. It’s a quiet area in Venice that we appreciated being in after long days with lots of people. Nice little restaurants close and a water taxi stop that was never busy :)

The hotel is desperate for a refurbishment, it’s a lovely old property with charm and character, but beyond the lobby the state of repair is poor, the treatment rooms are very shabby, the pools also are in need or renovation. Breakfast choices are rather poor, in Italy one expects much better breakfast. Often they ran out of things at breakfast and fruit choices are very limited and under ripe. It’s not a cheap hotel by any means, so value for money isn’t great atm. Shame. Could have been much better.

The wife and I stayed 4 nights and found the hotel to be in a nice central location. We found a cafe around the corner where we had breakfast most mornings and the main piazza was the opposite direction. The staff were always friendly when entering/leaving the hotel. The hotel itself was quite small and cozy, but the room was surprisingly large. There was plenty of room for our luggage where we didn't feel cramped. The TV had plenty of channels to watch and we were able to watch some Netflix as well. The Honesty Bar was sufficiently stocked and was self-serving. We found the breakfast to be a little over-priced, so we did not partake on the service there. There is a little water machine outside of the breakfast room for hot tea and instant coffee, as well as cold water for filling your water bottle. The canal was right outside of our window so we heard the singers floating by on the gondolas. No complaints there. We also heard the taxi's pulling up to the front of the hotel, the garbage collection, and the sewer collection. The *bad* noise was not too loud with a closed window, so still no complaints. I would recommend this hotel for couples travelling to Venice.
