"Very nice and accommodating hosts. Excellent breakfast, fresh orange juice or papaya juice. I do not eat pork, so they provided me with turkey cold cuts etc. Lima is not easy to figure out for a new tourist, but my hosts accompanied me on my first few trips and showed me some landmarks too. The room is a little on the warm side, but by leaving the door open for a while it ventilated o.k.."

"A very special place, filled with art by Peruvian artist Delfin. The entire house and its gardens feel somewhat surreal. Our room was very nice with a high ceiling and comfortable bed, though the bathroom was an open design. I’m usually not a great fan of that but it worked, providing airflow through the room. The host was a great communicator on WhatsApp. He arranged for a taxi to pick us up late at night from the airport and then the same taxi brought us back early in the morning. The room was totally adequate for a brief stay and very convenient to the airport. The host was amazing and made sure we were comfortable and even made us breakfast in the morning. He was very helpful with recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Joseph even helped us out on our return trip through Lima when we had a very long layover but weren't staying overnight. If you travel to Lima and want to stay in San Isidro, I heartily recommend B&B El Olivar."

"Cheap ($19) and close to the airport! The owner is very friendly and helpful! She cooked up a great breakfast of eggs, rolls, and coffee/tea. The neighborhood is older and rundown. However, the residents are just normal people---women sweeping the sidewalk in the morning, children walking to school, lady selling food at a stand, taxi driver polishing his car, etc. I felt it was a good introduction to the Peruvian culture and am happy we stayed there!"
