"I know the lodges are rented out and a few of the decor and furnishings needed an update, the carpet in the main bedroom was fraying and I stood on the carpet grip a few times walking from the ensuite into the bedroom. Some food splatters on the ceiling in the kitchen area"

"The main issue was the very strong dog smell in our room. Our stay was during snowy weather, and the room was extremely cold until the portable electric heater had warmed the room up - this took about 5 hours, so I'm glad we didn't check in close to bed time. The shower was an unpredictable dribble that leaked onto the bathroom floor. The kettle was broken so was continuously boiling and the handle was extremely hot, this is of course a safety concern if we had have left it unattended. I was expecting a slightly rough and ready stay due to the bargain price, but I couldn't overlook or resolve the terrible smell. The hole in the blind was a bit unsettling. On a positive note, the bedding and towels were clean and the parking was convenient. The landlady did try to find another heater for us, which we appreciated, however the heater was broken. "
