While this home feels away from it all, it's close to many activities and town. Walk a quarter of a mile to the Eagle Creek Winery & Tasting Room to enjoy an afternoon on the patio overlooking the vineyard. Head just three miles up the road to Eagle Creek Ranch for a guided horseback ride along the trails of the Eagle Creek area and Wenatchee National Forest. Downtown Leavenworth is only five miles away, this Bavarian-inspired town boasts year-round festivals, wine-tasting, breweries, shopping, dining, spa services, and several white water rafting guides. In the winter months, enjoy Leavenworth's Ski Hill or the many local Nordic trails. Stevens Pass Mountain Resort and Mission Ridge are only 40 miles away in each direction. Listen to Eagle Creek babble as it winds through the property, along with a path for nature walks, snowshoeing, or summertime picnics. After a day of exploring, return home and cozy up in front of one of the two gas fireplaces or soak in the primary bath's jetted tub. Gaze up at the brilliant stars at night from the wrap-around deck or enjoy a summer barbecue. Challenge friends or family to a game of shuffleboard or play darts in the private game room. THINGS TO KNOW Due to local vacation rental codes, there is a strict maximum of 6 people, including children and babies, for this rental. House Rules: No smoking of any kind allowed, anywhere on property. No parties are allowed, and no noise after 10 pm. No fireworks, sparklers, firecrackers, etc., anywhere on property. These rules must be strictly adhered to or guests will face eviction without refund. Cell phone service limited; Wi-fi calling and a landline phone provided. House at Eagle Creek and Retreat at Eagle Creek can be rented together as House and Retreat at Eagle Creek. Note: Because this home is in a rural area, there are chickens and a couple dogs that roam freely in the neighborhood. These dogs are very friendly and love to be petted. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Security camera details: Camera located in the locked off office next near front door (office is not available to guests) and points only out the window to porch and driveway. Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. It's clean, has a nice view, and a quick drive into town, but there are more negatives than positives unfortunately. Here are some things not mentioned (or buried in the listing description) that I wish I knew before booking: 1\. There is a tenant living in a garage apartment that is \*attached\* to the house. I don't think they were there during our stay, but this factor alone would have kept me from booking in the first place. 2\. The water absolutely reeks of rotten eggs. There are signs inside the house that mentioned a "slight" sulfur smell due to well water but it is not slight in the least. We tried to fill the nice jetted tub in the bathroom and the ENTIRE house smelled of rotten eggs before it was even half full. Completely unusable tub, and the showers were no better. Even washing dishes felt gross. 3\. The next door neighbors have multiple barking dogs that they let run loose all over the property. My kids could not play outside in the snow due to fear of the dogs. 4\. Both of the fireplaces were out of order which was really disappointing. There is also zero cell service. None. Altogether, not a very pleasant stay, as there were too many accumulative negatives. ##### G C. I m generally pretty forgiving and looking for the positive. This one has some positives. The house has the best supplied kitchen of any vacation rental I be ever stayed in. The air coniditiong was essential for the 100 degree heat. And the hammock overlooking the mountains were great. So there is a lot of positive. The negatives were small but cummalative. So many to make for simply a bad rental experience. The listing does not represent the house. it is in a suburban type track outside of town. Given the description with the acres named we were expecting more of a private isolated experience. (The "waterfall" they note is in fact a little mucky stream only reached through some thistles. And there are houses all around.) game room with shuffleboard and darts were promised but there was no shuffleboard sand/wax so impossible to play and darts were mostly broken or missing. The check in and check out time are clearly stated so my bad - I did not read carefully enough to see it was a 4pm check in (kinda late) and a 10am check out (quite early), which combined with more intensive list of clean up duties requested and cleaners who arrived 15 minutes early made for a stressful experience. This is the second time I have been to a property managed by them where they give you 1 dishwasher tablet for a 3 night stay and have no extra lightbulbs to replace the ones burnt out (in the game room). When a property costs this much to rent, why not splurge on the extra $0.50 for a few extra dishwashing tabs? It's kind of ridiculous. Again, the property and home were great. ##### Evan L. We loved the location of this home. We came from the city area and the nature was wonderful. It was very quiet, clean, cozy and great for some couples to be away from the kids for the weekend. There was adequate space for two teenagers, their parents and grandparents. Eating on the deck and listening to the birds and babbling brook was delightful. Some guests would benefit from knowing that there is a "no shoes in the house" policy so that they can bring slippers. Overall the experience was excellent, lots of good laughs, cozy home, and comfortable for a group of people. Upon arrival the garbages were full, dishes in cupboard you had to pick and choose which ones were dirty or not.. and the master bedroom window was open. Dirty dishes and full garbage cans inside the cabin, kind of make people wonder about the cleanliness of everything else. But overall it was a great home and weekend getaway. The immediate location and views are nice, as it sits in a valley with good spacing between cabins. The wrap around deck is a very nice place to take in the tranquil setting. The house has three bedrooms with a queen bed in each, so it can sleep 6 comfortably in beds. I think the property is advertised for sleeping 8, so this means two people must be on a couch or air mattress. It is only 4 miles from Leavenworth, and the drive to/from is scenic.
