Alexandre, our host at the Chateau, was simply wonderful. There are only a few rooms, so it was a very special stay, and the rooms are beautiful and large. The experience he provides is staying in a private home, with a formal living room, a dining room for breakfast, and a sitting room for relaxing. He recommended a place for dinner nearby the first night and then cooked a three-course meal for us on the second. He has brought the Chateau back to its original look with great style. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Chateau de la Pommeraye
Absolutely amazing, only stayed one night for bed and breakfast but everything was superb. A unique insight into living in a grand French country house. A place we will visit again. A great base to explore Normandy and only 30km from the ferry port.

Extraordinary B&B
Chateau de la Pommeraye is an extraordinary place. It's huge but there are only six bedrooms. It's filled with antiques. I've never stayed in a hotel/ bed+breakfast like it. A unique opportunity for the price. We stopped off here for 2 nights on the way back to England from the south of France. There wasn't too much for us to do close by - but the owner did recommended an excellent and good value local restaurant which we ate at both nights.

The best place to stay in Normandy
You will love this Chateau from first sight and the whole experience just gets better. We had a room on the second floor with 4 windows on 2 sides looking out onto beautiful surroundings including a pond, horses and a lovely garden. The bed was enormous and there was a fridge filled with local ciders and apple juice as well as Leffe beer (my husband's fav) and water. The owner, Alexandre, helps with knowledge of good places to visit & eat but without being at all intrusive. Breakfast was an extra 15 euros - can't remember if that was due to the way I'd reserved the hotel - rather than straight thru. It was well worth it with home made bread, and selection of jams in a beautiful room with the table laid out as if for the original French aristocracy. A must-stay for anyone visiting Suisse Normandie. I must also give a mention to the Spa just next to the castle - we had a fabulous meal there on our last night. The Spa looked so good but we were leaving early the following day so didn't get to try their facilities - another reason to return.

Beautiful chateau and amazing host
We had a fantastic short break at this chateau. There is an immediate wow when you arrive, with beautiful grounds, and a charming main house and out buildings. Inside it is clearly a labour of love with a superb attention to detail everywhere you cast your eye. Alex is a wonderful host - very welcoming, knowledgeable and happy to help you arrange every aspect of your break should you want him to. He gave us some great restaurant recommendations both near the chateau and convenient for our day trips. The fully organic breakfast is beautifully presented and a great start to the day. Overall it was perfect for a few days away as a couple and we couldn't have had a better stay.

Remote location, wonderful experience
This was the first time for us to stay in a chateau, and it was a choice we did not regret. The owner was friendly and helpful, the room very nicely decorated, and the breakfast first class. Certainly a unique experience. We felt sorry we booked only one night!

I loved this chateux, it was a dream. The hosts Alexander and Karen did everything they could to make our stay memorable. The rooms are wonderful as are the grounds. The breakfast has the best home baked pastries and sourdough baguettes you could dream of. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Prestations haut de gamme pour un lieu authentique
Le Château de la Pommeraye est un lieu haut de gamme à la décoration soignée et la propreté irréprochable. Le confort et les attentions sont dans tous les détails, que ce soit dans les chambres, la salle de bain ou dans les pièces communes. L'accès au Château se fait par une jolie route, une belle immersion dans ce lieu magique et très calme. Merci à son propriétaire pour son accueil !
