Apartment was quite dirty, sink wouldn't drain, and there is a bunch of garbage/boxes by the door, which is hidden in the photos. I can't understand why this place has such high reviews. The beds and aircon were great. Communications with the host was good and check in smooth. Locking the door however could be a little tricky. Also, it was a little strange walking in and the first thing that greets you is an open storage area. The sofa downstairs had lots of old stains which was a bit off putting. The stairs to the first are quite steep and the toilet on the first floor is very small. The main issue for us was the location which is stated to be 1 minute walk from Kawaramachi street. Whilst technically true it is actually right at the beginning of that street meaning getting to the shops, restaurants etc. is either a bus ride or 15-20 minutes walk.
