A fantastic apartment in a great location with a stunning view of the river. Couldn’t have asked for more(other than air conditioning;)).

The Ambassador Hotel is beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and professional! The hotel is in a lovely locations, the rooms are all unique and have lovely views, comfortable beds, and luxury bedding. The restaurant is top notch!!!

The staff were exceptionally nice. The room was clean. Plenty 9f parking. Breakfast was good. But the evening meals were expensive and not as good as I would expect given how much they cost. We had our last meal there and as I'm a vegetarian, I'm limited anyway. They could not adjust I was told as the meals came ready made - so microwave food for £15 to £20. I ended up getting soup.

The front desk had a miscommunication as to how to get to the hotel around a closed road crash which cost us 1.5 hours of driving and not being able to get there. We asked for a partial refund and they were unhelpful. It ultimately was a misunderstanding of which direction we were coming from and which road block we were needing to get around I found dealing with them after the fact very not compassionate even if they couldn’t offer a refund, making it feel entirely like my fault for not being willing to drive 2.5 more hours on the 154 mile detour that was there saying I was the only guest not to make it. A great way to make someone want to return! Make them feel bad about it.

Very tired old property. When they showed us the room it first reminded me of one of the servant quarters in a recent historic house tour. We booked a classic double. The room was damp, full of dusty furniture and the bed mattress springs were gone. There was a tiny window with a view to nothing. We lasted 10 mins and left. The manager gave us lots of options, one being the same room type and the other being the front door with just an apology and no refund offered. First time I ever left a property because of the condition but it was our final night in Scotland and I wanted somewhere special. This wasn’t it. It’s 2 star accommodation for 4 star prices. Didn’t stay to rate the food but the living room and dining decor seriously needs a makeover for 2026. It’s not 1926!
