Creek Side Cottage with Lake Views, Lake Access, Dock and Secluded Yard
Comfortable three bedroom cottage that is ideal for a family get-away. We have a lakefront parcel and dock to accommodate boaters and easy launching of kayaks! The secluded backyard and abundance of trees is also ideal for fall colors.
Our location is also only 3.5 miles from downtown Jamestown and attractions such as the Lucille Ball museum.
The property consists of 2 homes built in the early 1900s. The back house is where we keep the kayaks, grill, fire pit and other outdoor items. Grill your meals from the back house porch while watching boats enter and exit the southern tip of Lake Chautauqua. The back house is included as part of the regular rental.
In the main house, the 2 primary bedrooms each have a queen bed, and the 3rd bedroom has a twin as well as a twin size trundle bed. All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. The fold out couch and futon in the living room can accommodate additional guests.
The kitchen is very spacious and has plenty of counter space. And the property itself is fairly private with fencing along 2 sides and the creek bordering the other 2.
Kayak rental is also available. You can make use of our 6 available kayaks throughout the duration of your stay for a $100 fee, which can be added to the booking.
The lakefront property is basically just across the street and maybe 30 yards from the driveway. This is an ideal spot for fishing, boating, relaxing and viewing sunsets from our dock. The water depth at the dock can go down to about 27" though, so it may not be able to accomodate larger boats.

If you enjoy a true cabin/cottage feel for your vacation, this place is for you! We had a great time, everything as pictured on the listing. Traveled with our 2 year old and 9 month old. The back "house" and fire pit area is wonderful and such a relaxing view from that back porch. The house is old (which is part of the charm, but the floors are very uneven so wouldn't be great for any mobility issues or just-started-walking toddlers. Kitchen was well stocked with everything. Great water pressure and hot water. No complaints! Book it!
Very clean comfortable cottage. We stayed for 4 days in March. It was cold but the heat works great! The boat house is nice for playing cards etc and you can fish in Spring creek right off the back of the boat house. There was tons of wildlife. We saw a beaver, geese, mallard ducks, a porcupine, 2 mink and a muscrat in the creek. Great stay and highly recommend.
Weather was rough as it rained everyday, so the water and mud made things tough and the TV would not work properly with YouTube TV and the lag made it impossible to watch. Otherwise property is an excellent location e with a dock for the boat. Nice spot.
My teenage daughters and I rented this property for a couple nights to get away and relax before school starting up again. Everything was even better then described. The outdoor area with picnic table and fire pit is where we spent most of our time! Beautiful and serene!!
We had a wonderful stay! Erik was very accomodating and responsive when we messaged with questions. The house was listed accurately and was clean upon arrival. We had a great time on the lake with our boat and would love to come back in the future!
I spent 3 October nights with my family including two kids, age 11 and 14. The leaves were beautiful and it was a very peaceful stay. We ate most meals in the house which had everything we needed in the kitchen. Bedrooms were comfortable. Great access to the lake where we were able to enjoy the northern lights. Cute enclosed porch where I could enjoy my morning coffee or a glass of wine at night. Would definitely stay again.
Me and a few friends stayed to watch the eclipse. We loved the location - close enough to town to get essentials but in a quiet neighborhood. We watched the eclipse sunset over the lake and it was so beautiful! We loved watching the birds on the property. Our only qualm was the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan so it got a little humid

Very Rustic Cottage
We were quite disappointed when we arrived. The many pictures on the website greatly enhanced how the place really looked. It was clean and well stocked with annuities. The view from the back house porch (with great rocking chairs) was across a creek--not across the lake. You must walk a short distance to see the lake and dock. The water around the dock is totally congested with seaweed and algae. Suitable only for kayaks, not boats. The firepit was nice, with lots of firewood and firestarters, until the mosquitos arrived. Stairway to the bedrooms on the second floor was very narrow and steep--but the house is 100 years old, after all! Overall, a decent visit for four people who have been friends for over 60 years!
5 nights with our adults daughters where memories of water fun, board games, barbecue, and sight seeing were had this week at Spring Creek Cottage. We are super flexible and a chill family and had 5 adults staying at the cottage. LOVED the boat house to play games in, the rocking chairs around the campfire were so comfy, the lawn was mowed, towels placed in every bed, kitchen was clean and had everything needed. It is a short walk to the dock and is perfect for bringing along a boat(which we didn't have so we rented rhe kayaks and canoe!). Perfect time spent with our family!
We had a great time on our first trip to Lake Chautauqua. This property came with several kayaks of varying size; kids could fish in the creek or off the dock; great size yard for Cornhole, spike ball, and more. My husband loved the dock for his fishing boat. Lots of extras provided: charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill, games, life jackets, seasonings, foil, plastic baggies, extra toilet paper and paper towels. We didn’t spend much time inside other than to sleep, but the cottage is rustic feeling.
It was a great stay, unfortunately not long enough!! Went out for 2 days had great communication with the owner, very timely responses. Not many people around but the ones we saw were friendly neighbors. Will certainly stay again, went fishing off the dock with no luck was a little shallow for the time of year. Next time i will have a boat to get out for musky.
All and all i would recommend it.
Cottage was so fun! Loved knowing how old it was! We were 8 people, which was lots for 1bath, but it all went well. Fire pit was a gold star, plus the wood provided. Well equipped kitchen and no shortage of chairs for all of us. Would have liked at least one full length mirror, but no big deal. Had a blast! Thanks, Erik for your hosting and generosity. Erik made things all go well.
We had a wonderful and restful week at this cottage. Kitchen was well stocked beyond what we could have asked for. Plenty of paper products including tissues which as a nice touch. We enjoyed playing some of the games provided during the evenings and the property owner Erik was quick to respond when we had a question. The beds are a bit worn but we made due. If vacationers have mobility issues the stairs will be challenging to navigate. Thankful for our time away and even our 20 something son enjoyed his few days with us and commented on the amenities.

My 3 young adult granddaughters and I drove from Indianapolis to attend the annual gathering of families whose ancestors immigrated from Greece at the Greek Club, as the locals call it. Erik did an excellent job of explaining the location. We were surprised to realize there is a second ‘back house’ equipped with a game table, water sports items, a grill and a porch with nice seating. There’s also a firepit that we used the first night. The mosquitoes were savage, but Erik can’t control that. Bring a can of YardGuard if you’re planning to spend time outside. Inside, the house was clean, cozy and well-equipped. Everything we needed was there. The dance at the Clubhouse went until 2, so I asked Erik ahead of time if we might have some leeway on checkout so that we could be rested for the 7 hour drive home. He was very gracious in allowing us a few extra hours. I appreciate how prompt he got back to me when we had a couple questions. The girls and I had a memorable weekend. Thank you again, Erik.
We came up to the area for one night to celebrate the New Year with family who have a lake house in Greenhurst. Erik was awesome to work with. They even had a bottle of bubbly and some NYE favors for us which was a nice touch. Very clean. My only piece of information to pass on is the steps upstairs will be difficult for older folks or those with mobility issues. It was no problem for us or our kids.
First, I went with my 2 teenagers. It was such a unique set up with the boathouse and the creek. The house was very clean and had everything available. It’s an older house with a lot of character. The sunroom was perfect for morning coffee and all the birds, bunnies and 2 ducks visiting was an added bonus. The boat house was a great hang out place with a game table, games and a TV. Bonfire pit was perfect as well. The owner communicated well and had a book of area things to do, restaurants and grocery stores. The kayaks were a lot of fun and having a private dock was nice. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you to the host!
Over a good little house. Not of fan of the accordian doors even on the bathroom (i realize its small but bathroom privacy with one bathroom right off the eating area). Have to admit when i seen the neighbors house as you enter the property i was a little nervous. How ever the actual house was old but charming. Air conditioning situation could be a worry if the one person who has it keeps there door shut and or it on low. Access to lake great. The "creek" is more a swamp and can make the mosquitos a little much! Over all a bargin for the area.
Erik the owner of the property was just excellent to deal with from start to finish. The house was perfect for us and thankfully it had air conditioning! We were there during the hottest week in June . The place was clean and had everything we needed. The separate boathouse /game room in the back was a bonus too. The dock was perfect for my fishing boat and to do some fishing from . I know the stairs leading to the three upstairs bedrooms are mentioned in other reviews and yes they are something to be mindful of if you are traveling with older folks or others with limited mobility but 2 of us had no issue with them . Thank you again Erik for an awesome experience, I have a feeling we may look you up again.
The cottage and "boat house" are both really cute, quaint and well maintained. I spent alot of time outside enjoying the little stream right there as well as the birds, chipmunks and ducks :) and I would often walk over to the private dock for amazing lake views - you can also see the lake from the porch on the boat house. We utilized the fire pit several times. The location is very nice and quiet.
The stairs are a bit tight, but there aren't many of them so it was doable. Bedrooms were perfect for me and my daughters and grandson. We were puzzled by the lack of real doors to close and lock (2 bigger bedrooms and the bathroom).
It was an amazing stay and we hope to rebook in the future!
