9.2/10 Wonderful! (350 reviews)
The stay was OK for the money paid for, however all that I am going to mention costs $0 (or almost) to the property and can make a great location in the middle of the Costwolds a great place to stay.
Check in was slow for a pre-paid room. Almost no welcome package with sightseeing, we had to ask, only to get a piece of paper with names of towns. Printing a chat GPT guide costs $0 which we got at all of the other hotels we visited.
They told us the restaurant / bar closes at 10pm so we came down at 9:05pm wanting to grab a pub dinner and they told us the kitchen closed at 9pm and nothing could be done for 2 recently arrived guests. Let's say nothing could be done as we were technically late, but they could have told us about kitchen closed before the bar. AGAIN $0 - TOTAL disinterest for their guests
The only thing it would cost them money to change was their kettle which was chalky white on the inside. Which we showed and they only offered hot water from the pub for our teas. The kettle costs $30 - $50 to replace, but the bad attitude is irreplaceable.
Cleaning was not their forte either, I know that takes time and some money, but could be improved overall the property.
Check out also took us like 20 minutes as no one was there despite the stay was prepaid.
Again the hotel is a nice property, but a management overhaul is needed.
I won't stay there again.

Our lodge was well appointed, comfortable and relaxing. Location was good to do day trips out. Good, local eateries were convenient and not far away. We would recommend it to ours.

9/10 Wonderful! (128 reviews)
The room was dark … out dated … and in need of a brighter coat of paint …. But the bed was very comfortable and the bed linen clean The staircases were very narrow and very warm as there was no fresh air …. Just basic amenities in the room … Staff were very courteous but could have been a bit more pro active in clearing the tables in the bar and the bar floor …. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was excellent! It is very much a dog lovers paradise so be advised …. Public toilets were dirty …. Would I visit again …. No I don’t think I would …. However the location was absolutely ideal to walk into Salisbury which we did and thoroughly enjoyed

"Nice hotel with big rooms but poor lighting to do make up and nowhere in the bathroom to put down a wash bag or make up bag … glass shelf too narrow! Exquisite food. Thank you"
