"Simply poorly taken care of. What could have been a routine clean room was not really that clean. Old paint splattered onto furniture, curtains, and the floor. Since it was a bit dirty in appearance, I checked for bed bugs. As I’m glad to report not finding any, I did find the smoke alarm under the mattress. It was beeping as if the battery was low, but the battery was still in it. There was a smoke alarm in the ceiling, and I assume the staff saw it wasn’t there and installed another one, but obviously didn’t find the one that had been removed. This was my second time staying here, and will be my last. The previous time was about 2 years ago and wasn’t much better. While it is the only hotel to stay at in Commerce, it is worth the travel to Greenville or Sulphur Springs to have better accommodations. And, it’s unfortunate since it just needs a little TLC. Or a lot of it."

"The house is perfect for multi family vacation. Perfect spot right on the lake with boat ramps right next door in duck cove and large dock to tie up your boat, fish or just sit amd watch the sunset. House was clean and plenty of room for our party of 12. Pool is right off the deck next to grilling area."

"Richard is a great host. He is very good at communicating and fixing any issues that pop up. Great place to relax and spend time with friends and family!"

"Pretty convenient spot, easy to get to anything in town. Older hotel, in good shape. Good shower and bed, didn’t spend much time in the room but it made for a great spot to sleep. Easy check in and check out"

"Great very nice place for fishermen or fisher ladies. Clean, simple, appropriate for my needs. I had a conference in local area. So a good nights rest by the lake did me good. I recommend, very simple and perfect for fishing trips, wayfarers like myself, or perfect for a quiet place to pray and meditate or something similar."
