On the main level of this 2-story mountain getaway, you'll love the living / dining / kitchen area that really serves as the central gathering area of the home. Maximum 12 adults per county ordinance. Community quiet hours from 9pm - 8am daily. No events or parties. This is a family friendly neighborhood (not a party house) and is best suitable for those looking to enjoy a peaceful time in the mountains. No smoking of vaping. No commercial photography and / or filming allowed. There is parking for 3 - 4 vehicles on the driveway. Note that there is no access to the garage and street parking is not allowed at any Short Term Rental Property (per county ordinance). Summer access to Tahoe Swiss Village HOA Beach is governed by the Tahoe Swiss Village Board. It is generally a very family / guest friendly environment; however please note that some guest restrictions and / or capacity limitations may apply during busier summer days. No outdoor fires or charcoal bbq’s allowed per county ordinance. On red flag days, no open flame allowed (i.e. no use of propane grill). Trash must be properly disposed of within metal bear bin alongside driveway. Do not leave any food or beverages in your vehicle as bears will not hesitate to help themselves to your goodies and can cause significant vehicle damage. Home must be properly secured (doors locked, windows closed / locked, electric bear fence turned on) whenever not present in the home. The driveway is on a seasonal plow service, whereas they come once per day when it snows more than 5 inches. They generally follow the road plows and will first clear the berms at the end of the driveway. You’ll need to move your cars so that the plows can access and clear the driveway (which takes less than 5 minutes once cars are out of the way). The access to the property is through left front entry door. There are stairs that lead up from the driveway and they are exposed to the elements during the winter months. We do our best to ensure reasonable access to the property, but depending on the timing of your arrival (if during or immediately following a storm), there maybe some shoveling needed. There are shovels located onsite that can be used by guests, but we also recommend traveling with a shovel in case needed while in route. WINTER ADVISORY: By reserving this house during the winter months (November - April), you acknowledge that you will be traveling into the mountains and that winter storms are common and often unpredictable. The dates that you are choosing to reserve are being held for your group and are therefore unavailable for other groups to reserve. In all cases, our cancellation policy will prevail. There will be no consideration afforded for difficult travel due to winter weather condition. We strongly advise that you pay attention to incoming storms and / or changes in weather patterns in order to help avoid travel delays or disruptions. It is also strongly advised that you travel with a 4WD or AWD vehicle, carry snow chains , and have a shovel that can be used if needed to dig out a stuck vehicle. ALL SEASONS ADVISORY: By reserving this house, you acknowledge that you will be traveling to the mountains and that Lake Tahoe (while beautiful) is in a natural forest setting. As such, it is possible that you may encounter spiders, ants, field mice, etc. at properties throughout the area. We take every proactive measure to prevent pests from finding their way inside the property (i.e. regular cleanings, seasonal deep cleanings, routine pest control - i.e. spray perimeter and crawl space areas, set traps, seal up holes of entry, etc.). Despite those efforts, there’s always a rare possibility that pests can find their way inside the home (as it only takes a very small entry point for that to occur). This is simply a reality of living in the mountains. The house was very clean when we arrived, and there was plenty of room for the 8 of us (and 2 toddlers) to spread out. The kitchen was well-stocked, beds were comfortable, and it was convenient to have a laundry room. The bathroom in the master suite on the ground floor is new and very luxurious; the other 2 bathrooms were fine, if a little outdated. We appreciated the outdoor deck with the barbecue grill. Location is great; the lake is only 2 blocks away and there's a bike path right down the street that follows the lake. Homewood Ski Area is less than a mile away; Tahoe City is 5-10 minutes away.
