Easy to find as on a main road, not too noisy, but if that bothers you, there are rooms at the back which would be quiet. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable hosts, great base for the local area.

The setting of the property was beautiful and the unit we had was great. It contained what we needed and more. The menu of the restaurant was a little limited and the food was average.

Beautiful room with an amazing view. We had everything to cook with except a BQ. We enjoyed watching humpback whales from our balcony also dolphins. If we were to go back I would get their cabin up on the hill for a better view or the bigger cabins on tbe water with hottubs. Staff were friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Leaside Manor. The room was fantastic. The jetted tub was a huge bonus. The free hot brunch delivered to our door in the nice morning was the cherry on top. Can't wait to stay there again!

Budget hotel prices in Holyrood vary, but you can find a great deal from CA $109 on Expedia. To find the cheapest budget hotels, be flexible with your dates—typically, off-peak and mid-week stays are cheaper. Stretch your budget further by looking for hotels with free breakfast, free parking or free airport shuttles. Sort your search results by "Price: low to high" to see our lowest rates.
Which area of Holyrood is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
For budget-conscious solo travellers visiting Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador, focusing on accommodations slightly outside the immediate town centre or considering guesthouses and B&Bs will likely yield the most affordable options. Holyrood is a smaller community, so dedicated "cheap hotel" districts aren't as defined as in larger cities; instead, value often comes from seeking out more modest, locally run establishments.
Solo travellers might find good value in areas a short drive from the main Holyrood attractions, along the Conception Bay South highway, or in neighbouring communities like Conception Bay South itself. These locations often feature guesthouses or independent motels that offer lower rates than larger, full-service hotels. While not directly in Holyrood, the short drive is manageable, and you'll often find quieter surroundings.
Another approach for solo travellers is to look for private room rentals or guesthouses within Holyrood itself. These often provide a more personal touch and can be significantly cheaper than standard hotel rooms, sometimes including breakfast.
When is the most affordable time to visit Holyrood?
The most affordable time to visit Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador, is typically during the shoulder seasons of late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October). During these months, you'll generally find lower prices on accommodation and flights compared to the peak summer season, while still enjoying pleasant weather.
For solo travellers, these periods offer a more relaxed atmosphere, allowing for a deeper immersion in the local culture without the bustling crowds. You can explore the scenic walking trails, like the Salmonier Nature Park or the historic Holyrood Pond Trail, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Many local B&Bs and guesthouses might offer better rates, and you'll find fewer queues at popular attractions.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the quieter charm of Holyrood in the shoulder seasons. Enjoy a stroll along the harbour, take in the crisp autumn air, or embark on a whale-watching tour (early June and September can still offer good sightings) without the higher prices and larger crowds of July and August.
What free activities should we do in Holyrood?

It's a great spot for enjoying the coastal scenery, watching fishing boats, and perhaps spotting some local wildlife.
For those who appreciate the outdoors, the Salmonier Nature Park, located a short drive from Holyrood, offers free admission. This expansive park is home to a variety of Newfoundland's native animals, providing a chance to observe moose, caribou, and various bird species in a natural setting. It's an educational and peaceful experience, great for a solo traveller looking for quiet reflection and a connection with the region's unique ecosystem.
