The attention to detail was apparent throughout. All the staff behaved impeccably.

We cannot doubt that there was a lovely view from the back of the grounds overlooking the golf course. Unfortunately, it appears that the hotel itself is more of an afterthought to the golf amenities. Rooms are very dated and certainly in need of renovation. Bath robes not included in the room which proved tricky trying to get to the pool and back as you don’t want to put your clothes over a partially wet body that wants to just jump in the shower back in the room. Getting into the spa and gym requires a £1 coin to get through the turnstile. This isn’t something people usually carry. If night staff don’t know the answer to a question surely it’s better they say they don’t know than answer incorrectly. Food at breakfast was very substandard. No labels on the hot dishes so you have to open every pot to find out what is in each one. Basic things overlooked like apples that were on the turn/yellow brown and the coffee machine not having any milk in it for the start of day. These are all very basic things that that you would expect to be better in a 4 star. It is sad that you will need to book a very expensive five star hotel in order to just get the basics in the UK. Hence most of the time people go abroad because you get a higher standard of stay.

Very friendly staff, lovely hotel

Excellent location on esplanade. Stairs dated and probably original but don’t let that put you off. The room was clean and not dated with everything I required for a couple of nights. Breakfast was good both days and cooked to order. Be aware parking spaces are limited. There is a car park a short stroll down the road or you might be lucky and find a roadside space as there are a few with no restrictions near roundabout.
