"The view from inside the house and the decks is phenomenal...from sunup to sundown. The house is a 1970's ranch, remodeled inside. Spotlessly clean, new furniture,appliances,cabinetry. The exterior is not remodeled. Don't be put off by it.....the home is very nice to stay in. The materials used inside are high quality and the floorplan is perfect. This is an easy house to stay in. We had a small dog and he got along fine in the house and it was easy to walk him in the front and back yards. The Beach access is convenient and it is very nice to sit down there and watch the boats and Jet skis come in and go out. There is a starbucks 10 minutes away and downtown Hickory and the Viewmont section are also 10 minutes away. The Riverwalk is 7 minutes away and the City Walk only a little further. There is plenty to do and see. We enjoyed sitting on the deck (Both decks have there strong points) and watching the comings and goings across Lake Hickory. We have a Ford Expedition and were easily able to park in the driveway,under the side deck. It is a quiet and private location."

"A definite 10/10 rating…cottage and view are amazing! Centrally located to other nearby towns, restaurants, walking trails, and wineries. The hosts were responsive and offered excellent communication. We were sad to leave, but took home many wonderful memories, and are looking forward to returning soon. "

"Let me start off by saying they hotel looks a little sketchy. But don't let that fool you. Its actually a comfortable place to stay. It could benefit greatly from some updates. The bad: traffic outside is noisy until 11:00pm, the toilet is so low that it feels like you're sitting on the floor and the seat was very worn, my keys stopped working 2 times and had to be reset both times. The good: the beds are comfortable, staff is friendly, the building and rooms are clean, the breakfast is great and cooked to order, breakfast starts at 6:00 which is a big benefit if you have early appointments (volleyball, soccer, baseball tournaments), very convenient location for the metro center and restaurants. Overall, it was a good stay with the exception of the frustration of the keys not working. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again."

"Great property and location but (not their fault) this is a loud area. Unfortunately, the HPD has their hands full with motorcycles and cars pretty much drag racing on Hwy 70 which is right by the hotel. I don't think there is really anything the hotel can do but it's a shame. I was up visiting (lived there for 15 years) so as a recent local, i'm well aware of the problem. Otherwise, highly recommend this hotel over others in the area. Always clean, nice staff, and still a good location if you need to stay in Hickory."
