"What is expected of a 3 star hotel but at the price of a 4 or 5 star hotel because it is near a national park. House keeping is done daily, friendly staff and about 10 minutes from the Sequoia national park entrance."

"The owner was so pleasant and helpful. The pool was so nice to have available after a long day at Sequoia National Park, and the room was very comfortable. The best part of all was the delicious breakfast! We highly recommend the Parks Inn Bed & Breakfast!"

I had an excellent stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was also distinctive in a good way – a nice change from the standardized accommodation in chains. The location is outstanding – very close to the park.

Excellent bed&breakfast. The location was convenient, beautiful and serene. The hosts were very helpful and instructive. The breakfasts varied every day and were delicious, original and very creative....felt like we were being served in a 5 star restaurant.

My husband and I really enjoyed the tranquility of our stay. The scenery with the river running behind the restaurant and rooms provided great ambiance. We enjoyed the historic feel of the place yet with all the modern conveniences. We had an urgent phone call we had to make early in the morning and the hotel didn't hesitate to ensure we had phone service. They gave us their landline so we didn't have to use our cell data in the states. Was excellent cusotmer service.

The coffee maker didn’t work. The listing said it was a king bed with premium mountain view. The room was two queen beds and there wasn’t much of a view. Small tiny window and lots of trees in the yard. We loved the location and the seclusion. It wasn’t anything fancy but we just needed a place to stay and wash up so it was good.

The best area to stay in Hartland is the Old Town district, which is the historical and cultural heart of the city.
Old Town is characterised by its preserved 19th-century architecture, independent boutiques, and a wide selection of dining options. It's a highly walkable area, with most attractions centred around Main Street and the adjacent Riverwalk along the Hartland River. You'll find landmarks like the historic Hartland Clock Tower and the old County Courthouse here.
Couples often find Old Town ideal for a romantic getaway. The area offers a relaxed pace, with plenty of opportunities for leisurely strolls, art gallery visits, and enjoying meals at acclaimed local restaurants. Many of the boutique hotels here are housed in renovated historic buildings, offering a unique and luxurious stay.
Families will also appreciate Old Town for its convenience and access to gentle activities. The Riverwalk provides a pleasant path for walks or cycling, and there are several parks with splash pads and playgrounds within easy reach. The Hartland Museum of History, located just off Main Street, offers interactive exhibits that are engaging for all ages.
When is the best time to go to Hartland?
The best time to visit Hartland is from late spring to early autumn, specifically from May to October, when the weather is at its finest for outdoor activities.
During these months, you'll experience warm, sunny days with minimal rainfall, which is superb for exploring the Hartland National Park and its surrounding natural beauty. The average daily temperatures are comfortable, making hiking, cycling, and wildlife viewing particularly enjoyable. For those keen on water activities, the lakes and rivers are inviting during this period.
Families often find late June, July, and August ideal for their holidays as all park facilities and visitor centres are fully operational, and there are many ranger-led programmes suitable for all ages. School holidays mean more family-friendly events and a bustling, yet pleasant, atmosphere.
Couples looking for a slightly quieter experience with pleasant weather might prefer May, early June, or September. During these 'shoulder seasons,' the crowds are generally smaller, but the weather remains excellent, allowing for romantic hikes and peaceful moments amidst nature.
