"We are repeat guests at the Brickhouse and understand it has changed ownership since our last visit to Gettysburg. The format of this BnB has also changed and guests are largely left alone during their stay as there is little interaction with staff. Guests are expected to follow emailed instructions sent prior to arrival and find their room with keys hanging in their room. To us, this strays from the typical experience one might expect when staying at a bed and breakfast. As for breakfast, we feel they should abandon the “grab and go” and just price in the full breakfast. We understand it’s more work—but that’s what separates a BnB from a complimentary breakfast with limited choices at a hotel. The room was clean and overall our experience was good regarding our stay—we just feel there’s room for making it a better experience and more personable for guests."

"Judging by the state of the property driving on to it, I was very very nervous. Because there were obvious signs that there were people living here which is always a red flag. I don't know that for sure, but it appeared to be that way The interior of the place makes you nervous But once I got into my room, I was pleased that there were no bad odors and it had been at least somewhat. I was also nervous there was going to be a lot of racket through the night and there was only one outburst that concerned me. But other than that it was generally quiet and comfortable. The bed was great. Pillows were great. No bad cigarette odors or anything"

"Rooftop bar is fabulous! When we first arrived with our bikes, we were told to park in the parking garage, which was not right, but finally we were given a great space just inside the front door. Thank you for that and hopefully in the future we can be directed directly to that room for bike storage."

"Room was clean, sheets and pillows soft and clean. Shower pressure good. Front desk staff was patient and helpful. Cleaning and maintenance staff was friendly and attentive. We needed a toilet repair & it was done in quick order (chain in tank was wrapped & needed a shake). Cleaning service saw us in the hall, knew we declined cleaning and kindly asked if we were sure we didnt need anything. Location was on the edge of town, so our walks into town were usually all in the same direction and under 15 minutes. In the other direction is the National Park, and upon opening our door was a battlefield view. Parking was assigned, right at our door. Breakfast was is a small historic cottage with some tables. It gets crowded at times. Breakfast was a reliable way to start the day - self-help & constantly being re-stocked. The meat was hot sausage patties. Other items - hard-boiled eggs, waffle-maker, bagels, egg rounds, etc. Friend said the pool was terrific for a evening dip. 2 pools - indoor and outdoor. Exercise room looked nice, basic equipment. "Reliance" Bar is onsite and a very good place to get a drink and unwind. Not fancy, but relaxed. Met a few locals there, too. Felt safe and was pretty quiet, too. Definitely recommend staying here, will return if we visit G-burg again."

"This is such a peaceful stay. The property is well kept, beautiful and private. The lodges are so nice and comfy. Only complaint is parking. Not enough for everyone to get a space in front of the lodge they are staying in. The person staying in a lodge by us parked right in the middle of the spaces leaving no room for anyone else! We had to park in overflow and walk to the lodge we were staying in. VERY INCONVENIENT."
