Halbrite Vacation Packages

I had specified to be sure we were in the part of the hotel that had been recently renovated. Other than paint everything seemed to be old and original, peeling arborite in bathroom loose taps in shower, old shower curtain. After being out of the room all day and not requesting towel change etc. We returned to find our door open, towels were changed but nothing else done. Fortunately nothing seemed to be missing.

Checked in July 1 about 3pm. Went out and about the town came back about 8 and wanted to have a hot shower. No pressure at all on the hot setting. So called them and they called me back later to move us downstairs. Very bland breakfast the same everyday. We would leave early to tour the town and come back each day and the room wasn’t made up or cleaned even after 5pm. That definitely needs improvement.

I stay in A LOT of hotels. This is by far one the neatest hotels I have ever stayed in. It has historic accuracy, the lobby and rooms are elegant. The room was big. And the location is perfect to walk around downtown and to the tunnels of Moose Jaw. If I am ever in Moose Jaw again I will stay at the Grant Hall.

We made this booking through Expedia and received plenty of notifications in advance of our stay about the property. When we arrived after 10:00pm to check in the access for guests was on a busy road and there were homeless folks loitering nearby. As I was in a new city and there was no sign of a concierge or security nearby I chose to just drive around to the hotel parking area since I was travelling alone with my teenage child. Once in the underground parking I found clearly marked signs about how to proceed as a hotel guest. However once we unloaded the car and got to the elevator door we found it to be locked with no notice or explanation of how to proceed. I tried calling the front desk and there was no answer. Rather than put all our luggage back in the car my child and I carried all our luggage up a flight of stairs to the hotel lobby since only the elevator door was locked, not the stairwell door. When we arrived at the front desk a woman who was designated as a supervisor was working alone. I explained what had just happened and she was totally unhelpful leaving our check in experience very unpleasant and beginning our stay negatively. I expected the manager to contact me the following morning and no one did. In the end the parking for this hotel is inaccessible after 10:00pm for guests who require an elevator or have mobility issues.
