The room was very clean and very spacious. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed!! Excellent accommodations for a budget motel.
Some minor issues that might be helpful to some: very poor sound insulation, we could hear our neighbours clearly, but fortunately they were very quiet. There was a bit of a "hotel smell" in the room, but as I said, everything was very clean. The toilet got clogged up, but the staff offered to immediately deal with it (it was late at...

I had originally booked two nites and then decided to stay one more nite. I called the front desk and the girl said I would have to move rooms I said are you serious. I was going to check out in the morning instead of moving. But I called in the am and then girl told me I could stay in same room. It made no sense to move. I hadn’t gotten my room cleaned and all was good. It just seemed so unnecessary.
Also I ordered door dash two nites. My meal was left at front desk when I messaged the...

This was not a 5 star hotel, but also didn’t claim to be. This was one of the least expensive options of the very overpriced options available in Bangor / Brewer. I read some very bad reviews about this place and some good ones- we were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was spotless and spacious. #128 on the end of the second floor. It was quiet although next to the road and the stairs. Free self parking. Free continental breakfast (coffee, tea, fruit, yoghurt, juice, cereal and granola bars)...

Given that Greenbush, Maine is a small town with limited accommodation options, the best area to stay for most visitors is within the town centre along Main Street or nearby for convenient access to local amenities and the Penobscot River.
Greenbush's town centre is relatively compact, with Main Street (Route 2) serving as the primary thoroughfare. You'll find local shops, a few eateries, and the town office here. The area offers a quiet, rural atmosphere, typical of small New England towns, with properties often having larger plots of land. Many accommodations will be found slightly off Main Street, providing a peaceful setting while still being close to the river and local points of interest.
For families or those looking for a relaxing, nature-focused holiday, staying near the Penobscot River is ideal. Properties along or with easy access to the river offer opportunities for fishing, canoeing, or simply enjoying the tranquil water views. It's a lovely setting for unwinding and enjoying the great outdoors without being far from the small conveniences Greenbush offers.
When is the best time to go to Greenbush?
The best time to visit Greenbush, Maine, depends on whether you're seeking a winter wonderland or a vibrant summer escape, with each season offering distinct experiences.
For travellers looking for outdoor activities and comfortable temperatures, late spring to early autumn, particularly June through September, is ideal. During these months, the weather is generally warm and pleasant, superb for exploring the Penobscot River, hiking in nearby state parks, or enjoying fishing and kayaking. This period also sees longer daylight hours, allowing for extended exploration of the natural beauty surrounding Greenbush.
Winter, from December to March, transforms Greenbush into a picturesque snowy landscape, drawing visitors who enjoy winter sports and a cosy retreat. Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing are popular activities during this time.
