Staff is over the top friendly, rooms are clean , great location away from main side of island where it is extremely crowded and loud by only ten minutes walk. If you are going to Gilli t you must stay here

Great location by the beach on the quiet side of the island for relaxing. Hotel was ok, unfortunately a lot of food on the restaurant menu wasn’t available , that made the breakfast and other dining options poor.

Very happy & will return.
The staff were very helpful & went out of their way to make sure we were happy, the food was always delicious & it is on a beautiful part of the island. Close to great bars without being in amongst the chaos! Perfect for those that don't want to be right in the middle of the party strip, but still close enough to cycle there when you want to get your party on. The sunsets on this side of the island are magnificent & being able to swim with the turtles was magical.

The hotel is a bit run down. The air conditioner is not really working but the staff able to change the room for us. The wifi in my room is not working. I need to go out from the room to get connection. Overall,It is a bit far from the happening point where u can enjoy the chill and relaxing ambiance.

Take the good with the bad.
We arrived at Villa Julius and were warmly greeted by the staff. We were shown to our room, called "Safary". The room was spacious and well presented (although the floor boards could do with a re-boot). I immediately noticed that the air con was quite loud and rumbling. I asked the Manager, Gege, about this and he said it was 'normal'. We had a good afternoon lounging by the pool, and enjoyed the sunset as Villa Julius is set on that side of the island. The bed was comfortable but I was a little annoyed at the air con. They upgraded us to their "Sweet Hart" room. This is one of their deluxe rooms. We then had problems with the plumbing. Toilet wasn't flushing properly, and the shower would take time to kick in to action, and would stop intermittently. We put up with this for a day, but by the end of the stay I felt the need to tell them. The included breakfast was simple but enjoyable, especially being to eat it by the beach itself. Julius has part of their restaurant on the beach (that's how close you are). The staff at Julius is the biggest positive. hey will help you out with whatever you need, and organised bicycles for us to hire. I've read a lot of great reviews about Jullius. I don't know whether it was just the two rooms we happened to get, but Julius is in need of some serious repairs and facility upgrades, not just quick fixes.

a little bit rundown. our room is a upper floor with seaview, nice roon but little bit old, and the aircond is hot. sweating when sleeping,however the staff is helpful by changing another room for us, but dont have seaview,maybe is cheaper price.

Lovely view of sunset and beach with awesome staff
I had the honeymoon deluxe room and the view was truly spectacular. The veranda that stretched toward the ocean was lovely. But really, the best part of my stay was the wonderful, genuinely nice hotel staff. Okie and Gede particularly stood out in their care for my best staying experience. They helped with bike rentals, where to go and were great about room service.

Nice location but cleanliness could use some work
The location of the hotel is perfect - amazing view of the ocean and the sunset in he evening, we also liked that it wasn't close to the "busy" part of the island, it was nice to come back to the hotel jn the evening and be away from the chaos, however the cleanliness of the room needs some work, the floors were filthy and the bathroom didn't seem very clean to my husband and I. I don't know if we just expect too much when we stay in hotels but neither of us felt overly comfortable in the room. Also, be careful in the rooms located upstairs, the roof and walls aren't sealed completely and we had geckos crawling on our walls on the inside, I know they are harmless but still kind of creeped us out...it's nice to go back to your room at the end of the way and not have worry about the outdoors making their way indoors.

lovely hotel but construction workers annoying!
the hotel was lovely as were the staff and sunsets were gorgeous. breakfast was big and really good. location was far from the main street but we felt that was good because it was quieter. rooms were lovely, bed was so comfy, our only complaint was the construction workers that were working next door that started at around 8am. not ideal if you've been out late. we were very tired. i think the staff asked them to start at 10am and they didnt listen which is a shame. but a drill or hammer isn't really what you want to be hearing when you are relaxing by the pool

Amazing hotel!
We just stayed here in April was a good location as it had a private beach and they made sure you had everything you needed. Cleaned on a day to day basis plus the breakfast was amazing! Thoroughly recommend :) great place great island.

Perfect Sunset at Villa Julius
Had such a good time at this joint. The staff were great and shout outs to my boy JJ( the bartender) he was a BOSS. Location was good and the water views from the room even better. See you guys soon Villa Julius.

Poorly maintained villa, Toilet leaked and sometimes flooded the batthroom. Bar fridge had rotten fruit left in it, Ran out of eggs,butter and fruit at breakfast. Place is run by penny pinchers looking to do the minimal to maximise their profit. They were not interested in solving any issues during our stay. Will not go back.

Wonderful staff, went above and beyond for my birthday. Always happy and helpful. On the quiet side of the island but can easily get to the more happening spots by bike if you go the right way (take path to the left).

The room was very nice and cozy, we had the safari room. The only con was that the room was not 100% clean (sand in the floor and the bed linen had some dirty spot). About the hotel, the staff was very nice, the ones working in the restaurant the most. the swimingpool was a bit small but rellay nice and literally at 2meters from the beach. There are also tables for lunch and dinner at the sand to watch the sea, and during dinner time they turn candles on, it was so nice. The only thing that bodered us was they had no spare bikes to rent, so we had to walk to the center of the island to find some.

Poor quality for price
We luckily only stayed one night here. Far too over priced compared to other places in the area and for less quality. The staff had great service and were friendly, but the hotel was run down. Our room was nice enough and had plenty of room but was situated at the front where everyone in the restaurant or by the pool could look straight in so was slightly awkward. There was no hot water so bath was unusable. 'Outdoor' (cold) shower has tiles missing where you stand and was terrible. Shower was in view of other top level rooms behind. Pool was broken and was extremely green - luckily it was across from the beach so you could take a dip there instead. Bikes for hire were old, rusted and the chains kept coming off - absolute rip off and should be complimentary considering condition. On a positive note, the location was great if you wanted to relax and be a bit away from the party scene and the breakfast was yum.

Great place to stay. Staff are first rate. On the quiet side of the island away from the busy commercial centre. Great sunsets and if you are a good snorkeller you can find great coral structures on this side of the island. Just walk 600m along the track to the right of the villa, then swim out about 100m from the high tide mark then float with current back to the villa. we had an amazing 5 days here at the villa recovering from our 20 day trek in Nepal. The staff are always up for a conversation and provide excellent service. You will need to hire a bike to access the other parts of the island but the ride is easy and flat. We would ride our bikes and snorkell on the busy side of the island near the boats. Takes about 10 minutes on the bike through the island. We also rode across at night to sample different restaurants. Suggest you bring a headlight for the ride back to the villa.

Romantic Getaway at an Affordable Price in Gili T
We stayed here in September 2015 and were personally greeted by a staff named Zha, which assisted us throughout our whole 'check-in' process right through to showing us our room. Everything is very personalised here as there are only 7 rooms in the whole villa. Breakfast is strongly recommended to have in their little hut looking gazebo facing the beach. Super relaxing as you can just lay there enjoying the scenery. There are plus and minus points of the location of this villa. If you are the kind who wants to be right smack in the happening scene of Gili Trawangan, near the pubs, bars and restaurants, then this accommodation is definitely not for you. By bicycle, it is a good 20 mins ride to the the main spot. But the plus side of this is that you get such an experience by cycling through the Island in the day and even at night. Be warned, some parts of the Island are not lit up so you will be literally cycling in the dark with only the light from the moon and the stars! As I'm a typical city girl used to the highways and skyscraper buildings, I often felt I was in a movie set, as every inch of cycling has different sceneries.

This is certainly a taste of paradise :) The room's were clean and the staff were extremely helpful the only thing to note is that it is at least a 20min bike ride into town other than that just beautiful :)
